Time, mostly. Retirement is looming, so it won't be too long. 3D printing has always interested me - I will need to learn the modeling software which will probably be the biggest challenge for me. I've dabbled in 2D software (CAD drawing for plans), but never 3D stuff. It should be interesting.
Who knows....with a little practice you could 3D print off a new 6G Ranger with a water guard incorporated into it !!!

Count me in for one of these whenever you have time. I'm happy to pay with the full understanding that it's an experimental product. Awesome idea and work!

I think SOLIDWORKS has a Creator license that's rather inexpensive compared to the commercial licenses. After I left working for a SW reseller, I picked up OnShape which is free for non-commercial use and some limited projects. It's a little funky to transition from SW but not too bad. I've used it for some home projects to explain to others what my vision was. Really handy to pull up my designs on the phone and can even make some edits from it.

I use the site tinkercad.com for a lot of stuff, pretty easy and straight forward.

Not good if you're needing more complicated designs though... That you'll want dedicated software.

I pulled the clips on the upper and lower cowl cover and put in butyl tape, it's the light grayish tan stuff oozing out of the joint (circled). Hopefully that's sufficient to keep water from dripping on the engine.

Totally missed this thread. Just think it all started with an idea like this that I posted many moons ago. ? Great idea. Did I tell you I like the color of your truck.

My “Rainguard Thing” from ctechbob fits well. I have no idea what happens in the rain yet since everything falling now is solid and not liquid.
