It might be hard to keep the water out in all circumstances. How about Hi temp water proof sealer in the plug well. Or once a year maintenance High temp lube in the wells.

Did the same investigation last night and started a thread. The split location and middle fastener is defeating the cheap ass foam gasket tape between the metal cowl and plastic cover. From looking at it, Ford doesn’t have a lot of holes in the passenger side plastic cowl cover because that is where the air inlet thru the firewall for climate controls is. They are trying to get passenger side water to the middle and then out….keeping it away from the climate control air intake in the passenger corner of the firewall.

I’m going to pull it off, replace the cheap ass foam with butyl tape and use bolts to hold the plastic cowl cover down for a nice squeeze. Going to seal between the two pieces at the split also. The water is draining out, just compromising the crap ass foam gasket tape at the split.

Would love to see photos of your work when you do this! I don't even have my truck yet ('23), but I plan to do the same soon after I get it.

I'd advise against this until you verify it actually has this issue.

Just checked my engine and pulled the pack on cyl #4 (rear of engine) about a half hour ago. It has been raining like a monsoon here for the past day and night. Fortunately I saw no moisture on the surface of the intake around it or anything in the well. No moisture, no corrosion.

My truck is a 2020 with ~24k miles. At home I do park it backed in to my driveway which has a slight grade that might cause water to not drip forward over/thru the cowl, but nothing dramatic, just very slight. (No engine cover, btw.)

Last summer at about this same time I took it into the dealership for water leaking into the cabin, but that was behind the rear seat on the passenger side. When I first brought it in, the service advisor immediately said, " front passenger wheel well?" as though he already knew of the issue. They had it fixed along with replacing the entire carpeting in a day and I've never noticed a problem or mildew smells since. Maybe the front cabin leak is somehow related to the drainage problem in this thread?

Pic of the spark plug opening (best I could do with my cellphone):

Looks pristine. Are you're cowl slots open or closed?

Open on the driver side half. About 90% closed on the passenger side half with a few slots open near the center.
I really don't understand that, but if you are not having issues that's great. I still need to assess mine.

What do you guys think of this solution? It's a rain channel the directs the water off the engine. I'm still working on it. Looking for feedback & suggestions.

Looks ok, I'm guessing your hoping the water will drop out on the passenger side. To be honest I was hoping someone would make a product for a solution to this nightmare!!!

Yes - it's angled towards the passenger side to drain. I may increase the angle.

Decided to test mine and poured a bucket of water into the cowl. The water immediately drained out the driver and passenger sides. Yes, engine bay is dirty but it is dry.
