Follow the advice from above and you will be fine I run a 5x8 6hrs (each way) to my camp in PA 4 times a year. My additional advice is to make sure you leave enough room to brake in front of you due to the added weight of trailer. Safe Travels.

I tow 7000lbs every weekend, I will say a brake controller is a must (I'm running the redarc myself) a wdh is a help for sure but not a requirement just be aware of tongue weight max for your hitch is 750lbs. Air springs can be of good benefit I have them when loaded I run 10 psi in them rides...

I tow close to 7000lbs every weekend 40 miles even in winter no changes from summer other than winter tires for the truck. I also use a 7x16 enclosed trailer as well never had an issue with it, but trailer brakes are key imo.

it will come with sct's preloaded tunes only but yes you can download tunes to it but as DGC333 stated should've bought from a tuner
