My idea is working well. I plan on keeping my truck so down the road if I can find a retainer to fit the pin it will help keep the rod on & if I can dill a hole in the trim panel insert a rubber grommet it would look much better. Also paint the rod.
Actually it is part of an old laundry cart. Thin metal tube & the plastic corner tube connector. I save old junk for a reason. At the time I save it I'm not sure for what. 🤔
Had a little time so I made a new temp control rod for my temporary fix. Works much better than the wire, wire was too flexible. If I paint it black it would not be as noticeable.
I guess I should put this in the hillbilly DIY thread.
Kimball thanks for the video. All though I have manual a/c I see the work involved (which I am familiar with) which I am not sure at this stage of my life I would want to get involved with (unless someone local would want to volunteer to help me) I will more than likely nurse mine along with my...
Airline Tech & all others interested. I had to use my truck today to pickup some supplies. I can confirm by make shift cable is functional as I was able to adjust the temp. I took a picture of the drivers side best I could & it appears there is no actuator on the drivers side with manual a/c.
Correct on not jamming the pin to far. The slot shows no wear but there is some scaring from the pin on the face of the blue bell crank. I did not notice any play but was not really looking for any. I was concerned on smoothness or binding. Correct on blue bell crank riding in HVAC box. I was...
Airline Tech need some comments please. My 19 is not driven a lot. I have 38,549 miles, it will be 5yrs old in July so no warranty. Mine started just a while back then finally stayed in the warm position. At one point in my life I have spent a lot of time doing automotive HVAC work. Have done...
I think both have been mentioned price & leakage, but one could save money over the Dorman by finding a suitable drain plug & put it in the OE pan. Why spend the extra money for the Dorman & still have a leak.
I have not seen the inside of the other after market pans but my concern is with the amount of residual crap left in the bottom of the pan. It doesn't have a sunken area for the drain like an oil pan. So the process still leaves crap in bottom of pan. 🤔
This is for the electronic minded. Basic stuff is ok, but when it comes to all of this computerized stuff I'm still in school. So that brings me to my point, on a Honda forum someone had talked about adding extra ground wires stating that it cleans the signals up for all the communication that...
