Thanks, Yes, I did read that As others have already reported, when its in the folded position with the straps connected, it can bounce up against the back window / third brake light, which isn't good. They provided some small bumpers so those hit the brake light, but kind of lame design.
In my install of the MX4 the rubber bumpers should not hit the brake light, they should be towards each side of the cover so they straddle the brake light wide.

Agree. Mine are aligned on each side and do not contact the brake light assembly.

Well i was so excited to have my cover, I didn't really read the instructions. Well I know see what happened. I was looking at the wrong part re bumpers. After reading the manual more closely, I see the bumpers needed to be installed, and mine are missing, thus why my cover lays right on the light. I also see they did not use the hose drain cutout plug either, and that piece is missing. The hose just drops down inside my bed, so all the water will just run right into my bed. I'll have to cut a hole in my drop in bed liner (as the instructions say to) and feed that water correctly. I also noticed that the rails should have plastic end caps, mine do not, I just see the bare metal rails, so those are missing. On top of all of that, one of the hold down screw knobs has been over-tightened, meaning it really isn't hold that side down much. One of the latches isn't catching either so I guess the rail needs more adjustment. I hope I'm not missing anything else! I should have installed this myself!

I think I do have the G2 model because when I google the Ford part number, VKB3Z99501A42C - the G2 one comes up.

I'm not going to take it back and now I need to get an accessories bag with all those missing items. I'll try Ford first to see if I can get accessories kit.

I ended up letting the dealer install the cover. It took them 3 hours and I had to adjust it when I got home to align everything.
3 HOURS  !!! They milked that install for everything last second. My first install of my Bak G2 took me just under an hour....and I was taking my time. That's pretty pathetic.... AND you still had to make adjustments after you got it home. Sad.

I am considering going for the Undercover Ultralex instead of the Bakfip. Anyone have any experience with them ?

I bought the new redesigned Undercover Flex that came out in March. The Undercover website has the new info. Most online retailers haven't updated there descriptions yet. I ordered mine from Autoanything and it was shipped directly from the manufacturer and was the updated top. It now has the aluminum top and the rear seal that let's you open and close the tailgate with the cover closed like the Ultra Flex. It was easy to install and works great. On a side note AutoAnything.com has the tops 21% off this weekend when you use promo code BUN21 at checkout. The Undercover and Bakflip are both made by Truck Hero. But the Undercover has a better warranty and doesn't lean against the back of the cab when fully open. Here is a video comparing the Ultra Flex and the Bakflip MX4

I bought mine from them on 4/7/19 at 10% off. They have a 1 year price match guarantee so I chatted with them this morning and they refunded me $101 (the extra 11%). Great company to do business with.

Those of you with these bed covers installed have you noticed a quieter truck and did you see any change in mpgs?

Not quieter, not sure why you would think it might be. It's behind you. I've only burned a eighth of tank of gas only in town driving since putting mine on this week. Where you'll notice a difference is at highway speeds. I had a 2005 Ranger FX4. It got around 18 running 70-75 on the interstate without a Tonneau cover. But would get around 21 70-75 after installing it. So that's about a 15% improvement. Don't know what kind of difference it will make on my 19 Lariat FX4 but I'm hoping for similar results.

I wouldn't expect much mpg difference from a bed cover on a modern truck

As far as noise deading I’ve noticed it using the old school rubber bed matts.
Just curious if a bed cover would help.

That makes them reputable. I can’t wait to get it...
Did your model come with the illuminated bed lights ? What powers them ?

so I am going to make the dealer order me a new replacement cover, as I have confirmed they will not break-out the accessories package to help fix my install. I just noticed that accessories.ford.com has discontinued the old style, VKB3Z-99501A42-C, and - D.

The new part number is VKB3Z-99501A42-G

Can anyone please confirm if this is the new MX4?

I might as well get them to order me the newer model, where I do not need to open the cover before closing the tailgate. :)
