  1. Aftermarket or Ford hard folding tonneau cover availability?

Not sure if your aware of it, But the Bakflip and Undercover are both made by the same company Truck Hero.
  2. Broke my Ranger yesterday

They have been building this version of the Ranger in other countries since 2011. So it's not a new truck and new parts. If it was a manufacturing defect that would effect a lot of the trucks I think Ford would have caught and fixed it by now. It was probably just a one off defective part like...
  3. Transit Company Damaged My New Ranger

Only if the dealer or the transport company turns it in to insurance. But if they do any paint work and you go to trade it in later the dealer you are trying to trade to will go over the truck with a device that measures paint thickness. They will deduct for paint work on what they offer you...
  4. anyone install the Tonneau hard folding cover

You just need to loosen the two knobs at each corner of the front of the bed and adjust it.
  5. MPG is on the RISE

I use an app called "FillUp-gas mileage log" to track my mileage.
  6. anyone install the Tonneau hard folding cover

There are a couple of holes a few inches lower on the side of the bed that will work better. The hole you have it stuck in is too high. It may not drain properly.
  7. Can Vouch for the Spray-in Bedliner

Here is a video showing how Ford installs the factory spray in liner and a second video showing how easy it is to remove the Ford spray in liner because they don't sand the bed before spraying. It basically peels out in large sections. This is on a 16 F150 but I assume Ford install the Ranger...
  8. MPG is on the RISE

It takes a couple of tanks for the computer to fully adjust to the higher octane. It will adjust to lower octane almost immediately when it detects knocking/ pinging. At higher elevations like in the mountains you can actually use lower octane. That's why regular unleaded in higher elevation...
  9. Class Action Lawsuit Filed over MPG Ratings

Mine usually shows around 1 mpg more than manually calculated but about 20% of the time it's around. 5 mpg less than manually calculated. Trying to do like that thread says wouldnt help since it's off high and low at times.
  10. MPG is on the RISE

What octane gas are you using? Page 137 of the owners manual recommends 91+ for best performance. That's what I use and have never gotten less than 18.8mpg manually calculated. The dash has never shown less than 19.9mpg. I usually get between 22 and 27 with my FX4 Crew cab.
  11. Gap when Tailgate is Closed

Looks like you still have the gap by the hinge. Do you not see light coming thru at that spot with the tailgate closed?
  12. MPG is on the RISE

I'm very happy with my crew cab FX4. Mileage calculated with my fillup app has been between 18.8 and 26.2. The numbers for the past week were from our vacation from KC Mo to Durango, Co then to Estes Park, Co and back to KC Mo. Interstate driving was with cruise set at 75. The numbers before May...

I'm very happy with my crew cab FX4. Mileage calculated with my fillup app has been between 18.8 and 26.2. 14. Regular or Premium Fuel?

Could it be that 90% of the vehicles aren't turbo or supercharged? Ford even states on pg 137 of the owners manual 91+ is recommended for best engine performance. The new motors do have knock sensors. If they detect knocking/pinging which can damage the engine it retards the timing to protect...
  15. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

I know my comment was in response to Hounddog409 saying GM can't build a transmission.
  16. anyone install the Tonneau hard folding cover

I suggest you contact Undercover and ask them since it's there cover. The ArmorFlex is the same as the updated Flex except it has the LineX coating sprayed on the top to resist dents. So the installation would be the same.
  17. anyone install the Tonneau hard folding cover

The instructions that came with my Undercover Flex for the 5' bed said you had to cut notches in the drop in bed liner. The bakflip and Undercover are both made by Truck Hero and use the same mounting system so I'm sure they would both require the cutting. I had the Undercover Elite LX on my 17...
  18. BAKFLIP MX4 INSTALL

Looks like you left out the shims that go between the metal bed and the plastic cap. Also looks like you overnighted the clamps. The only get tightened to 10 ft pounds which isn't very tight.
  19. anyone install the Tonneau hard folding cover

You don't have to cut it all the way around. But you do have to cut the liner at the front of the bed on each side so the rails can slide all the way forward. That's not just the Undercover but all of the covers that have the rails that clamp onto the side. On a side note, BAK is offering a...
