Tow my 19.5’ Tahoe to the lake around once a week. Probably 4200lbs with fuel and gear on board. Ranger has no problem power wise, but it can get bouncy in the rear going over certain bumps. Should probably look into upgrading the rear shocks.

Picked up this new to us trailer for some weekend get a way's.

Brought home with the F250 because we had to come down Black Mtn on I-40 and didn't want to set up the hitch at sellers home and was not totally sure how the little guy would handle the situation.

Took on a quick trip to Charleston, SC this past weekend and the Ranger did much better than I could have ever hopped for, the performance continues to impress me.

Finally pulled the trigger. Grey wolf 26DJSE, same layout as TechnicallyReal 's Jayco, similar weight.

E2 hitch installed, although I need to adjust it tomorrow now that it is home and I've loaded it up with most of our junk.

Pulling it home today with 96-98 degree temps, Coolant 203 / Trans 213. AC Cranked. Ford did a pretty good job with the cooling package on our trucks.

14.5mpg average after an hour drive. Stop and go, 10 miles of 70mph interstate and then some country roads.

Very cool!

This weekend I made some mods to our Jayco actually. I cut the top bunk leaving only a 1' shelf along the side and 20" shelf at the rear. Huge quality of life upgrade for us!

That's very cool, amazing how it opens up that area!
It's a game changer! We were storing stuff in the top bunk but unable to actually see in there or access half of it until it ended up on the floor after a drive. Kiddo couldn't sit up in bed, didn't have a lot of light, and the AC couldn't reach her. This solved all of that, and the trailer feels a bunch bigger, too. I might find a cabinet to put at the back for kiddo to store clothes in.

Another mod I did was to frame in the area under the queen bed such that it was separate from the passthrough storage (yours is probably already separate but Jayco doesn't separate the passthrough from the area under the bed). Once the passthrough storage was separate from the inner storage, I split the inner 30/70 and put a cupboard door on small side and a large opening on the large side. The large side perfectly fits our dog's bed so now the dog basically doesn't take up space in the trailer at night anymore.

There are a couple of other things we've done but I feel like I'm going off-topic lol

Yes, very impressed with the Ranger temperature control. The only time I've gotten it hot enough for the dreaded "wrench" light to come on is dragging our trailer up a 12% off-road grade in 4H; a quick change to 4L and turning the air conditioner off and things got back to normal right quick.

I would like to thank the inhabitants of this board for all the help, warnings, insights and useful information as I just finished towing this Sunset Trails 222RB back to Oregon from Boise ID, 355 miles and over 3+ mountain passes of 4k ft elevation after considering the purchase for several months.

This little truck tows like a champion. I felt fortunate to never experience any sway. Also the Redarc brake controller worked like a charm when a little 3 pt buck decided to play chicken with me in the sage desert.

Per dash computer calculations, 10.9 mpg staying between 45-65 mph @ altitude.

Thanks for all the help on the maiden voyage!
