me too! Was on the fence between livernois and 5 star which I had in my old truck and it was great but after all the good reviews here I'm going with the livernois tune for the ranger. Just have to proritize it on the mod list I have other expensive hobbies that get in the way lol

The only reason I'm waiting is I want to do an oil analysis before adding a tune to make sure the fuel % in the oil is good. It doesn't smell like there is but I won't change it for another 2K. I don't want to take it in with a problem with the tune in.

I'm more excited for the auto start/stop to go away, calibrate my 285's and the better shifting in the transmission. plus the added HP will be fun too! Should make a hell of a difference with my added performance parts as well.

I just ordered the tuner! I wasn't asked on check out what tuning features I wanted so I assume their are either menu options when installing (like shift firmness an auto stop/start). Maybe those are asked when ordering the actual tune.

I wanted to do an oil change an oil analysis before installing the tune but I have 2K to go before the next oil change....guess I'll find out how if I can fight the temptation

When you get the tuner you will get an instruction sheet. Pretty easy to follow and then expect a few days to get your tunes to install on the truck. Be aware that even with the performance/tow tunes without the soft shift will take time to get used to for the transmission to learn. I have close to 4000 miles on my tow tune and is is pretty nice on the shifting now.

So it turns out that joining this forum was a big mistake. I was very happy with my stock 2019 Ranger Supercrew Lariat FX4. Since I joined this forum, I have had to make Forscan changes to things I did not even know were annoying, install a Ham radio, install a console vault, and tonight had to order this tuner. I may not be able to come back in her after my wife kicks my butt. However, she did have a knee replacement last week so I may be able to take her right now.

Seriously though, thanks for all of the helpful hints and product feedback

How long would you guys say it takes for the truck to learn the sequential shifting? Right now my 1-2 shift is pretty noticeable, but I only have about 120mi on the 91-93 perf tune

My 1-2 smoothed out a little bit, but was still too harsh for my tastes after about 500 miles. I flashed the smoother shifting tune (non-sequential) and couldn't be happier. It's much easier to daily but still has the power on tap when you need it.

The stock tune skips 2nd gear for a reason. Shifting is much smoother and less noticeable when 2nd is skipped. In order to not feel 2nd your throttle has to be very light. Not sure the transmission will ever learn a soft shift to 2nd. I finally got to where I could manage it with throttle. You might want to get with Livernois and have them hook you up with the soft shift tune if it bothers you.

Get yourself a bed rug that way you'll have a nice comfortable place to sleep just in case she kicks you out. lol

I don't remember how many miles it took.to smooth out on my truck but i currently have about 4000 miles on TBE tow tune right now and it doesn't give me any hassle.
