  1. So, I changed the left blend door motor today.

I did this twice, but the problem returned after a few months. The real problem is the warped assembly, for which there is a revised part. Unfortunately, to get the entire assembly out, it does require the dash to be torn down. The dealer monkeys definitely broke a few things getting to it!
  2. Interior tailgate handle

For what it's worth, my cable has been reliable since I installed it but it did take a lot of trial and error. The cable release doesn't bypass the lock, so if the truck is in motion, lifting the handle won't open the tailgate! In retrospect, incorporating some sort of cable tensioner would...
  3. Awning stuff

I went straight to a 270 degree for my first awning. I can never not have an awning again!!
  4. How low can you go?

In my 2012 Focus, it ran out of gas with about 15mi left on the display. I don't think these things are an exact science
  5. Want to add an extra pair of amber fog lights and later on down the road a light bar. Let's see some pictures for inspiration. What do you all have?!

I've got a 20" single row light bar, amber driving lights in the bumper, amber driving lights as ditch lights, and whute/amber switchback bulbs in the stock fogs
  6. Broken underseat compartment lid

Oops! I don't have a SCrew so I didn't know it was different for you guys. Def an SCab thing then
  7. Broken underseat compartment lid

Just found out that the tabs that retain the underseat compartment latches are super weak and can break if something heavy is put on them. To fix this and prevent the other side from breaking, I made an insert that reinforces the tabs and bypasses the one that broke on me. I don't expect to...
  8. Yikes, just saw a new Tundra

I don't know what they were thinking with that design in general. The tail end isn't any better. If the Tacoma redesign goes this way...
  9. Offroad Wheels: 16s vs 17s

They're definitely available, but the choices outside of E rating are limited in 16s.
  10. Offroad Wheels: 16s vs 17s

I have 16's and I would do the same again. The only thing I don't like is the lack of tire choices. These are P265 75r16 with a C load rating. Nice and lightweight.
  11. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Used it as a mobile shade/tool shed for cleaning up a fallen tree in my yard
  12. Favorite pic you've seen here on Ranger5G

I'm quite fond of this rig, myself.. But then again, I might be biased
  13. How Tall Is Your Truck?

My awning puts me at 6ft 11in. Antenna is 8ft 1in If I pull the awning and antenna, I'm at 6ft 8in with my rack. Not great for low hanging ceilings..
  14. The PIC whore club! Come on in!

The composure on this photo is just fantastic!
  15. AVS Aeroskin Hood Protector

I can't imagine it would be too hard to vinyl wrap the aeroskin in a close matching blue while it is off the truck. Might be more durable than the paint and certainly easier to replace as it chips
  16. My air blend door nightmare

Oh I made a stink about it. They fixed every broken and scarred panel, redid the air blender assembly, recharged the AC, and lent me a new Ford Escape for the 3 weeks they needed to repair the truck. Sadly, they took all of my aftermarket wiring and tossed it into a nest in the passenger seat...
  17. My air blend door nightmare

I think they forgot to crimp the connections on the AC lines. After a while, the hissing stopped when the AC system seemed to run out refrigerant and couldn't produce any more cold air.
  18. Bilstein vs Eibach vs FOX 2.0 Rear Shocks

I went with the eibach pro truck kit at 3". I'd describe the ride as firm and planted without being jarring or stiff. Stock suspension was grossly under damped, making it super springy. I don't think I'd want my suspension to be any softer or stiffer, but I haven't tried the others to say...
