27' Fifth Wheel. 5200 lbs dry weight. 750 pin weight. Pulls fine so far.

Wow! That’s a lot of trailer. Yeah how tight can you turn with that short box. Really the dry weight means nothing. Have you weighed it loaded ready to travel, and what is the combined weight. That's what counts.

It's a 10" slider hitch. Plenty of turning radius. I'll post some pics next time I hook it up. Also the truck cab is about 12" narrower than a full size truck. 750 pin weight over the axle only lowered the back 1".

That chart is MAXIMUM LOADED trailer weight and there are a lot of other little but important clarifications to it. Like that is with an empty truck with one approximately 160 pound driver. Also it specically says not to exceed the GCVWR of the truck, which is 12,500 pounds for a crew cab 4x4 and goes down for supercab and 4x2.

My guess if you weigh it loaded for camping with family you will be at if not over the GCVWR.

My Tremor weighs right around 5100 -5200 “wet” with two adults and camping crap. He stated his empty trailer weight is 5200. That’s 10400 combined. Gives him some room for stuff in the trailer before he hits 12500. Or is my math faulty?

Your math is not considering altitude rating impact, at Lake Higgins (just over 1,000 ft) the GCWR is 12125 for 4x4 SuperCrew. Also, I can't imagine that sliding pin in the bed is light weight and needs to be considered in with the weight (GVW, GCW)

EDIT: More mathing on it, there is almost no room for anything other than that trailer from my math.
Givens from web since I don't know the sticker of his truck that is adjusted based on factory options:
Model: XLT 4x4
curb weight: 4441lb
payload: 1560lb
GVWR: 6050lb
GCWR: 12500lb (adjusted to 12125lb for altitude)
Sliding 5th wheel hitch: 205lb (Curt 16536)
Trailer weight: 5200lb
Trailer tongue/pin weight: 750lb

Just connecting the trailer and the hitch:
max (lb)used (lb)free (lb)
payload1560955605
gvwr60505396654
gcwr1212598462279

But adding any people to that and you quickly run up of payload and gvwr. Below is an estimate with just my wife, son and I, no gear at all.

max (lb)used (lb)free (lb)
payload15601565-5
gvwr6050600644
gcwr12125104561669

I just sold my other camper so all my camping gear is in my garage in one spot. It includes, 2 lawn chairs, folding table, 2 solar tiki lights, two 8x10 outdoor carpets, portable Coleman grill, 1 tote full of kitchen accessories, 1 tote of misc camping stuff. Tool box. Beverage cooler, fishing gear. About 450 lbs worth. I add another 100 pounds for food and beverages. Another 40 lbs of clothes and bedding. Add another 50 lbs for misc stuff. 50 lbs lol gas. About 690 lbs. Truck is about 4,450. Hitch is about 100. I'm 153. Wife 139. Dog 30. Dog stuff 20 lbs. 160 lbs fuel. Total about 4,939. We don't carry water in the tanks of the trailer. Totals about 10829. Don't think I missed much.

Another option to add some flattery - wife is 115 and dog is 54.

Altitude is not a factor in GCWR. The axles don’t know anything about altitude. Altitude will effect engine performance, but not weight rating.

Well, I suggest you read your manual for your truck where it specifically states to reduce the GCWR by 3% for every 1,000 ft. The amount of weight the engine can pull, especially up a grade is directly related to its performance ability, which has you admitted is a impacted by altitude.
