It’s a Honda Passport. That’s what we towed with last season. Just used that pic for camera setup
We towed with out '16 Pilot AWD for a bit, was our gateway into towing

Is towing something like that similar to the feel of a travel trailer?

We will be towing this bad boy. 3500lbs plus another 300lbs ish of gear. It’s the main reason I bought the Ranger. Just got the brake controller put in today. Now we just need the snow to melt.

Seems to be a little bit riding "nose high", but that is to be expected as you cannot use a weight distributing hitch with a flat trailer like that.
I would assume there are surge brakes, so I think you'll be alright.
I would suggest you air up the rear tires to around 38-40 psi, and even than you might notice some "mushiness" in the back if your riding on the stock shocks.
It looks like your Ranger is a 2 wheel drive, if so you can see from my pic how my Ranger sits with around 675 lbs tongue weight, but with a WD hitch...just showing for a comparison.
Your Bronco/trailer combo actually weighs more than my 29 foot travel trailer, but the way your weight is located you probably won't be affected by wind too much....
Still, take it steady and easy...
What route are you taking...I-40 all the way ?

Wow thanks for the tips! Just did a 39 mile loop to the scale and back.

I lifted the nose about a full inch & squatted 2 inches. The ride felt good, did feel the steering wheel slightly vibrate at times. Max speed I did was 70mph.

Yeah I hate I can’t use a WD! Just look at the front axle weight!

you’re right about the 2WD, it’s all they had at my dealer… they had the psi at 45 from factory & I got about 550 miles on it so far

Yeah, with the weight transfer all to the rear end, the front will feel a bit light and "squirrely".....that's where the WD hitch comes into it's own, transferring some weight to the front.
If your taking I-40 west, we were out, all the way to Arizona on I-40 going west last Sept and into early Oct.
Be aware that from Albuquerque New Mexico to the Arizona state line there was alot of heave construction going on, both directions, lots of delays.....don't know what the conditions are now...maybe some on the forum will have better info.

Doing a tow test today before our move from South Carolina to California! Bronco is around 4200. Trailer is 2210. 6,410lbs behind the ranger. She’s sitting pretty leveled!

What y’all think on a 2,000 mile road trip with this setup??
I think you will be OK. No Problemo.

I’m stopping in Houston to see family so I’m taking I-10 all the way

Been towing a little pop up around. Seems to handle some rutted trails pretty well.
