Yeah, I've heard of this from a few people. No idea why it doesn't decide to update when the XML is sent in. It's only serving v3.3 updates now, probably why you see that build noted. Hopefully it'll clear up once they switch back on the v3.4 update for Ranger.
I have had this issue with my 2018 Fusion for every update that has been issued. After it would not recognize the update I did last week, I turned on wifi and automatic updates. Apparently that let the vehicle communicate with Ford and the web site now reports I am up to date. I have since turned automatic updates off since I want to control when updates occur.

I have not yet run any updates on my Ranger (on 3.4.19274) since it is working well and have been waiting for something newer than 3.4.20136.

There have been a few here that have reported at some point it just updated itself - assuming that SYNC is doing phone home updates on some kind of schedule. But even though it is hooked to our wifi at the house, mine still hasn't updated. I've kind of given up figuring out how to get it fixed at this point. Whenever the new 3.4 update is released for download, I'll probably update it and see if that fixes it.

The problem is that I'm running 3.4.20136 but Ford doesn't seem to realize it. I've tried uploading the XML file after the update and I believe it was actually successful once, but nothing seems to get the Ford servers to update the version it thinks I'm running.
Plus 1 on this!

I have automatic updates turned on, connected to wifi and it refuses to update Ford on the current version installed. I don't know what else I could enable to make it work.

Just fyi - I was one of those that lost the climate icon when I upgraded to v3.4 Build 20136.

Looking in Oasis, Ford has since changed the As Built value at 7D0-04-01. Previously was 3480, now is 3400 to Enable Climate Domain

It must be the 8 that controls that - my asbuilt was 3380 and my "fixed" version is 3300.

Correct the 8 is causing the climate icon to disappear. If you previously had a 0, those trucks didn't have any issue.

Maybe I'm over thinking this but I'm curious as to why Ford tells me I'm up to date with Sync 3.4 v 20136 when that version of Sync was never authorized for my 2019 Ranger. Seems strange....lol

Ford has pulled this latest update. No longer available in Oasis. Very frustrating.

My speculation is that in their effort to restore the missing climate icon, now the icon is appearing on lower trim vehicles that never had the icon and don't have the hardware to support this feature.

SSM 49408 - 2019 Ranger And Fusion - SYNC 3 - Climate Control Features Missing On The TouchScreen

Some 2019 Ranger and Fusion vehicles may have a symptom of the climate control features missing on the touch screen after updating the SYNC software. At this time it is not recommended to update the SYNC/APIM software on 2019 Ranger and Fusion vehicles. 'Additional Climate Options' will display without on-screen controls after updating the SYNC software. Engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition. Inform customers that Ford is developing a software fix that is expected in late January. In the interim, let the customer know that the climate control will still function with the standard control buttons on the dash and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late January. Once the update becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for updates.

This is just ridiculous. Ford needs to change the way it manager software releases--clearly the current glacially slow process isn't ensuring quality, so maybe it's time to move fast instead.

Agreed. Like all of us - I’ve been waiting over a year for 3.4 to fix items that didn’t work when I got the truck new in 2019 - like Sirius song titles not displaying in the instrument panel - only to have a “fix” break my climate controls which required another couple of months wait to fix which apparently breaks something else now so we’re back to waiting. At this rate I will not own this truck by the time they fix their awful originally shipped software. I recognize Ford isn’t a software company - however there are many companies that aren’t software companies that have to account for multiple hardware configurations across broad product portfolios that somehow manage to deliver software updates that don’t consistently break features and at much expedited speeds.

Haven't been in the office in weeks, so... ?‍♂

Edit: Re-reading that SSM, it seems like the same thing as the original message. It's saying (as I read it), update and you'll potentially lose the Climate domain, but things like the pop-ups that show when you manually change a climate setting will pop up.

When/if they ever figure this SYNC 3.4 out, I really hope they make it all work better. I was able to update a while back through the Ford owners site, and 3.4 is slow and buggy compared to what 3.3 was. Sure it looks a little nicer but I'd rather have it work properly.

This is too much...

Once again Oasis shows Sync 3 v3.4 Build 20282 is available.

However, this time it is available for download on the Ford Owner site and I was able to download

Now my truck is showing the update being available.

I didn't lose climate icons when I upgraded to 3.4.

I'll probably try to get the upgrade done later today.

Please post the results.

My wife has the Ranger for the next 2 days so I won't be able to install the update.
