Go to the Ford Sync Update website, type in your VIN and it will guide you from there if an update is available.

If you're connected wirelessly to your home Wi-Fi it will just update itself

If you want to wait forever for it to download.

The zip file is almost 1 gb.

Thanks for the notice.
I downloaded the files from the website to a flash drive and installed the update. Now it says I have version 21098 installed but it never downloaded the XML file to the flash drive so I could let Ford know I had installed the update.
It will be interesting to see if some of the SYNC problems are fixed. Time will tell.

If you don’t have the .XML file, stick your USB back in and let it do it’s thing. You can leave in longer without hurting anything. When it “really” finishes you should have the XML file. I haven’t tried with this newest 21098 yet, but did do 21020 with no issues via USB.

Mine updated over wifi on consecutive evenings. My XM froze one day but autocorrected and it's been fine ever since. I didn't even realize it was updating until the XM went down. I came on here and saw it was common. To each his own.

Hopefully this fixes the XM radio freezing issue.
Yeah, having to manually reboot every time XM audio goes away after starting the truck is beyond old. And it's kinda hard to believe that the developers and software QA team missed this on a main component like XM.

Kidding, I know there isn't a software QA team.

I play Pokemon Go, and you'd be AMAZED at the game breaking bugs that get through. I genuinely don't think Niantic tests anything. Like, a few weeks ago there was a new update that had a strobing (potentially seizure inducing) white flash every time you'd encounter a pokemon. The thing you'd potentially do hundreds of times in a single day of playing. It's the thing you do most frequently in the game. Like. How can you miss that? and it took them FOUR revisions pushed to the live server over the course of a week to fix it. And this wasn't even the first time this had happened. And Pokemon is the biggest media franchise there is. It's bigger than Star Wars or Marvel.

Unfortunately, as others have previously reported, Build 21098 did NOT fix the Sirius XM issue or Travel LInk, but we already knew that.

Furthermore, the XML file was never written to the USB flash drive.

I had to run a manual scan for updates to notify Oasis and the Ford Owner website the update has successfully been installed.
