Good afternoon all!

Returning to the world of towing after a few years off. We have purchased a 2011 Jayco X23B.

For people who care about these things: RV GVWR=4950, Hitch Wt=450, GCVW=9960. We will have WD system and a friction sway bar.

We don't actually pick it up until May, but I have great hopes!

Take care and be safe.

Enjoy! We had a 2006 23B that we had for 15 years. Had to replace the roof because of their crappy design that year. Otherwise enjoyed it alot. Upgraded to a new Surveyor 19BHLE last summer. Looking forward to pulling it with our new Tremor this season.

We looked at a couple of different ones. Nice rig. The 19MBLE made the short list, but we decided to hold off until we could use it more then 2-3 weeks per year. Retirement is coming! (hopefully...lol)

2.5" lift on the trailer

2k Wen generator pair from Amazon with 300hrs on it keeps me away from civilization for days out in the CA desert

Plenty of payload capacity on the Ranger for tools, extra supplies, etc. See my other posts on the airbags

Ranger handles it like a champ

tailwind out, headwind when returning? Downhill out, uphill back?
Unloaded causing some sway, truck sway control (braking) kicking in and hurting fuel economy?

Same road, same hills, only thing i can think of is the wind. A head wind coming home, maybe the empty trailer didnt like the wind? Felt the wind just a bit empty, just heard it loaded. Drove slow due to gas prices. Truck really likes the 65, 68 mph range. I never go over 70 when towing.
Headwind coming back home i guess.
Well, either way, its a great truck.
Ill worry about mpg being off tomorrow

Likely a small headwind or an altitude change that you are dismissing. You can get the altitude information online if your gps app does not have it (miss that feature in the Ford or haven't found it yet our Honda Pilot has it).

I usually use the WIndy app the week of my towing trip to know what to expect on the roads, helps me judge my arrival times where we are going.

Just picked up our new Jayco 24RL....been on order since last July.
I have posted several times about our plans and the trailer and the Rangers ability to tow something as large...
Well to all you nay-sayers, the trailer came in at 5625 with a battery and 2 full 30 lb propane tanks.
Figure around 6200-6300 with our stuff and a partial tank of water.
As far as towing...I set my WD hitch up and it tows beautifully. Its listed as 29 foot, but its a 24 foot box and 5 feet of front frame. Took it right up on the interstate, hit 65, and it cruises just fine...no sway, no bounce, and the Ranger had plenty of power. Just a bit wibbily/mushy in the back but I think that will be taken care of by a better set of shocks.

Good to know, I know my next TT my wife wants something in that size. I am so attached to our Ranger at this point I really do not want an F150 unless I absolutely need one.

New to RV's. I wanted to post this RV spec sheet to hear all sides on if it would be safe to pull with the 2022 Ranger(Tow Package, 4x4, OEM brake controller, and WDH). I think my big concern is the Tongue weight and would I quickly go over the 750-pound limit. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. I have two adults, two little ones, and two dogs. All combined weight of fewer than 600 pounds. Almost all cargo would be in the RV after that.

Depends on how much you load up with cargo. If you limit what you load up with you should be fine
