Hey @cfhgarza , that looks like a ton of memories in the making. ?

Towminator will be by shortly and will likely tell you…

“If you plan on towing/camping a lot, look at the ClearView Mirrors.”

Steve. You up yet? Can I get you a coffee?
$569.95 ? I think I'll just get a pair of clip on mirrors

We looked for "clip-on" and didn't see any we liked. Please post what you find.

Yeah I'm up and on my 3rd cuppa.
Yup, if your budget allows for it, you can't get better than Clearviews. I'm so used to them now that I don't think I could get by without them.
And, I have a Lariat which means I had to get the $1000 buck set....and its the best money I have spent on the Ranger.

Yeah, they aren’t cheap. I hope you find some clip on mirrors that meet your needs.

I agree with Steve, They were the best money spend on towing equipment, other than a good WDH. Buy once, Cry once. It's really nice not having to remember to put on, take off the clamp on mirrors, just pull them out or push them in.

If you are looking for Clip/Clamp on mirrors stay away from the ones that use elastic straps. The shape of the ranger mirrors do not work well with them. The best mirrors I found before I got my Clearviews were a set of MILENCO Dometic DM-2912 Grans Aero3 towing mirrors. They clamp onto the top of the OEM mirror and stay put at speed real well with minimal vibration. Never had an issue with them folding up the OEM mirrors. As a matter of fact I have my old set on a shelf in the garage and could probably be induced to part with them.

Clearview FTW.

The problem I had with clip on's is that on a 2 lane road, oncoming trucks would blow my drivers mirror in. A minor annoyance to be sure, but annoying none-the-less. Also, a good stiff headwind would do it as well.

They're also Doggo approved. (This is her as soon as I hook up the trailer, waiting to go)

Well you guys were right. I tried a couple different clip on mirrors and none of them seem like they will work. Going to see if Clearview runs a memorial day sale and order a set. Seems like I'll lose power fold functionality unless I get the pair that has all the options I don't need which is annoying

If you google up "Clearview Refurbished/Pre loved" mirrors a sub-site will come up with mirrors for sale by owners.....but their almost as expensive as new. Unless there was a big discount I think I'd pass.
You could also contact the company and inquire about returned/remanufactured mirrors......they must have them as I was one of the first and was sent a brand new pair that was wired wrong from the factory. My call to them resulted in a brand new pair sent within 3 days. They even sent the new pair out before needing the defective pair back.....which they also sent me a pre paid shipping label.
Don't think I have ever seen a sale by the company.....sometimes you just have to "bite the bullet".

Something to consider. We have used this setup for the last 3 years towing our trailer. It has worked great in lieu of towing mirrors. Your trailer is probably pre wired to accept this type of setup. It allows the system to be on full time while driving giving you a 170 degree view of what’s behind you. Plus it’s great for backing into sites. You would need to verify what your trailer has for camera setup to get the right kit.

Those are great for seeing what is behind you. Especially those people who like to tuck in tight behind you and hook a free ride in the draft zone. But I like the wider mirrors to also be able to see what is beside me AND the trailer. When in heavy traffic or need to change lanes.

Both are valuable, but give me the mirrors first. I think they are even a legal requirement in Australia.

My trailer is prewired for a Furrion caera in the rear but I'd rather have mirrors first and technology as a helper rather than relying on technology alone.

For what it’s worth what I see in my factory mirrors also is displayed in the monitor. I actually have the 180 degree camera so I can see what’s along side our 28 foot trailer right up to the rear bumper of the trailer. From there any vehicle along side me is already in my mirror.

Granted you can see everything up to the rear bumper of your trailer. Not along side if your trailer! If your mirrors do not extend out wide enough to be able to see the side of your trailer all the way to the rear bumper, you have a huge blind spot along side of your trailer that a motorcycle or small car could easily hide in. I assume your 28 foot trailer is at least 8 foot wide, the OEM mirrors are not wide enough to see past the front corner of that.
