Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking for, I have the exact same, single side exit, while it’s mellow, still impressed with the sound considering our engine size. I’ll also start off running the 91 performance tune, hot weather is near here in AZ so I plan to do that for the next 5 months or so the maybe flash the 87-89 performance during cooler months. Who knows, I may be so addicted to the way the 91 feels may be hard to change anything up!
If you haven't looked into the catted downpipe from SPD yet, maybe take a look. Pairs nicely with a catback

For me the Gibson exhaust was great but when I added the downpipe it really gave the truck a good sound

Plus the performance increases

Deff something to look in to! after I have the tune in, I’m thinking downpipe and lastly Mishimoto intercooler and that should cover it....for now, can’t forget about this tailgate damper I keep reading so much about , I hear it saves 10mpg immediately after install

I’m here in North Phoenix (technically Glendale) but yes, I suspect I’ll be living and loving the 91 performance tune. How long has yours been tuned? Do you currently have all 5 tunes as well?

If you get the right one you get extra hp/tq gains which I can help you out when you're ready. ?

They will give you all 5 tunes if you ask when you submit your request. I've been running the 91-93 performance tune since August and really like that one. I tried the tow tune but I didn't care for it so I flashed back to the performance one. It makes a huge difference in the trucks performance. Drive it in S mode then picture that on steroids. ?

I honestly probably will never tow in the immediate future, but I do plan on asking for all 5 of the tunes as well just in case. So glad everyone loves this tune, just makes waiting that much harder!!

I don't tow anything anymore either but some like the tow tune as it changes the shifts and gives it more power low to mid range. I figured I bought it for the most performance so might as well use that one. It's just nice they give you all of them so you can try them out and decide which one you like best. Plus the free re-tune (you pay shipping) if you sell your Ranger and get something else is nice too.

It's perfect that you're getting it now before the heat sets in. I got mine in early August and it was still a big difference over stock but way more noticeable once it cooled off. Just wait until you're cruising along at 70 and put it to the floor. You'll be shocked how fast it takes off and before you know it you're up over triple digits. There's a few good stretches on the 101 to do this, so I've heard.

I feel like I might need to take the day off work once I’ve flashed the tunes, there’s very important testing and research that needs to be done! Yes, also a perfect side road I know of as I’m really close to 51st Ave and 101, also so I’ve heard :sunglasses:

Intercooler is a good choice. I have that one on the shelf yet to install from black Friday since I've been messing with my new camper so much.

Damper is a must lol, you get used to the convenience and worth it for the price

Did you get the Mishimoto intercooler? Cant remember if they had that on sale during Black Friday, they make a black one that I can’t stop looking at! I would’ve jumped on that as well but just got the truck early January. You’ll have to let us know the difference it makes, I know for us AZ’ers we could really benefit from it. 110 degrees is just a few months away! ?

Does the box have to be plugged in at all times for this to work? Or can you reprogram, and then put the box away until you want to change something?

It only need to be plugged it in program. I leave mine with the cord in the glovebox. You can buy the suction cup mount and use for certain readouts.

Now that's a great idea. I think I need (I mean my truck needs) a day of "testing and research" too. :)

Off topic and I did post it in a different thread (no reply yet) so I won’t flood this one but anyone familiar with this sound? Just kinda desperate, I got my truck used only has about 24k miles on it and I put about 1k since I got it in Jan. Want to make sure everything is tip top prior to flashing the tune! So this odd little noise happens only when truck is in park or stopped and truck doesn’t even have to be fully turned on (just discovered last night) I can turn key half way and get the sound, almost sounds like a disc loading or something, thanks all in advance and sorry for changing the subject!

I went with Mountune. It is also all black and comes with a stencil if you choose to stencil their name

Mishimoto was taking too long to get their products to market and the Mountune one is of the same high quality, and on sale

I am most interested to see how it benefits while towing, typical driving would be in and out of boost but towing I'm in the boost pretty much the whole time. The upgraded one not only lowers the temps but also does not get heat soaked as much after repeated or constant boost
