I bought this Jayco 264BHW, 6500 lbs GVWR and used a pro series (Reese) WDH hitch. Tremor is quite high and I need a new 10-inch shank to level the setup.
Ranger can easily pull the trailer and stopping is ok too. But wind and passing vehicles become a big factor for speed over 50mphs. You can feel the sway at times. Nothing uncontrollable but not a pleasant experience as well.
I don't have much experience in towing and this trailer seems little big for the size/weight of my Ranger. I don‘t plan to use the Ranger to tow long distances. I think a sway bar would help make it more stable.
This little 2.3 engine has amazing torque and surprises in pulling the trailer. So is the suspension of the truck. Little bit of squat but easily corrected with WDH.

Definitely get the nose of the trailer DOWN....that's causing most of the sway problems. Right now, the way it's set up...in a panic stop your looking at a jackknife occurring. Stopping on a wet road....all bets are off !!!!!
Yeah, it's a bit oversize for the Ranger but I've towed almost as big, and heavier. But as I emphasized, get the nose down.....for safety's sake do not tow for any distance till you take care of it.

I agree with your assessment that you need to get the hitch height lower to level it out.
The other suggestion I have is getting some E series tires for the Ranger.
On a previous F-150 I had and towing a 32’ travel trailer above 55 was a little scary with the OEM tire.
Once i installed some E rated tires the difference was immediately noticeable and a less stressful drive to the campground.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will definitely look into swapping the tires.

No. What should be the tire pressure? Right now its 39 Psi
I tow 6000lbs with our Tremor and I usually run 39psi. I have bumped it to 42-43 a few times and there wasn’t much difference in ride/sway

Depends on the tires and the truck. My truck calls for 30PSI under normal load. I up that to 35 front and 40-45 rear when loaded.

Last week, I posted about a little boat hull I picked up and I took this week off of work to rig it. It may be tiny, but it took me two days just to rig the console, what a pain!

I mean, I'm in pain! All that bending, kneeling, reaching, and contorting, reminded me that I'm not 20 anymore!

But I like doing that stuff (even though I would make my late Navy-turned-merchant-marine dad proud with the abundance of colorful language I blurted out regularly!). =D

Took it out last night on the Piscataqua River for a 6-mile round trip to the Atlantic. Motor still breaking in but what a fun little boat. It's small enough to launch solo and less clean up than our kayaks. Hose it down, flush the engine, done!

no need for TBC, this thing is light
