Cool. I’m at 151,000 on all original brakes and just passed inspection with flying colors. I had a 1999 Dodge 3500 dually for 20 years to the month and never touched the brakes. Of course I had a Jacobs exhaust brake on it too. 😁

These systems were used on early Wheel Horse models equipped with Kohler engines (often K-series) that lacked built-in starter ring gears.

The neighbor guy next door saw dads Wheel Horse and how handy it was so he went and bought the next size up. It was a different engine and it used the generator for the starter, pretty cool.

My dad bought a Wheel Horse 655 with a Tecumseh engine in the mid 60’s. They were built with real metal then.

I drove through pouring rain yesterday and if it wasn’t raining, it was foggy as pea soup. Ranger never missed a beat. Drove it to Wakefield first thing this morning to take my sons car in for state inspection and it ran perfectly as always even after all that rain and fog.

It just burns my ass to see the money some of these people are making. I’ll leave it at that.

Very lucky I guess. I’ve been buying new cars about every three years since 1984, and other than an 88 and a 90 Accord, this is the most trouble free vehicle I have ever owned to this point anyway. I’m very pleased with this Ranger. 422 mile round trip yesterday and other than nasty weather...
