Only got 36,370 on now , only put a little over 3000 Smiles on it since last May. She will be 4 in June.
22K and only three times? Lucky you. Mine was in 3 times by 7k. Carrier bearing, output shaft bearing, drive shafts, leaking front struts.I was wondering, my is back again, fairly long list, trans, Sync, brakes, belt trim, door handle, console lid, the common ones, it's 22k now, and this is the 3rd time back.
I absolutely love the truck, I would even buy it again knowing I could have some problems, it's perfect for me, hauls ass, gets good MPG, drives like a small car, fits in compact parking spots, really important here overcrowded So Cal, it's just a great truck in my opinion, except the laundry list of warranty repairs, unfortunately I have a opposite example in the driveway, the wife and kids have all driven Honda's for years and they rarely go back for warranty work.
With all the Ford quality issues in the media these days, Farley barking at the workers to do a better job, also blaming it on parts supply issues and supplier quality, and all the recalls as well, it's a little frustrating when your vehicle mfg is in the news so much.
So I just got to wondering how this group does, is it one out of ten, one out of a hundred that has had to go back?
I started out just to ask a question, but then I thought "why not try the poll thing" never did one before, so here it goes!
Honestly, I don't think it is unusual for ANY vehicle to have at least one visit to the dealer after purchase for SOMETHING. That is why I suggested a change to the poll to indicate the SEVERITY of the issue that it went back for.55% no to 46% yes, damn, I wonder what the numbers are at Ford motor company, across all models? You know they have the exact numbers.
Just in this small 100 responses the yes answers are higher than I expected, but it also goes that a unhappy person speaks up about a product more than the happy one.
I wouldn't have posted this if I was not on my third trip back, (trans and brakes all 3 times) the happy owner would probably never wonder about the question I asked.
I would hope that overall the yes votes are lower, but this has not been surprising that a lot of the trucks have the same problems, the 20 yrs I spent at Ford dealers, you got to know the common problems that each model tended to have.

There does seem to be some commonality for sure.
I agree. I think any vehicle can have one or two visits for warranty work. I think the ratio would be much diffent if the pole was between 1 or 2 and 3 or more.Honestly, I don't think it is unusual for ANY vehicle to have at least one visit to the dealer after purchase for SOMETHING.
