Here ya go dtech. Cruise set on 70 all day when we weren't avoiding construction. Physics doesn't care, my Ranger would have been no better.....and the Hybrid doesn't help here either.

Ohh and E15 in the midwest sucks ass

That bests a guy in my neighborhood who bought a 2024 F-150 v8 tremor (he was pronouncing it trimmer until I enlightened him) and pulling a 23 ft rockwood mini lite same size as my nobo , on his 1st trip up to Jackson wy he managed 7 mpg, going 70+. When I drive 2 lane highways at 55 mph I do get 13 - 14 mpg so I'm happy with that. Like you I use lucas gas additive and it appears to give small mpg gains but the engine does run smoother .

In March I towed the trailer to cottonwood az - just south of Sedona, for the trip my milage was over 1k, mpg was 10.5 , I declined to go over my gas receipts , I know I spent a bundle. Stayed at Dead Horse State Park, it was pretty nice, overall quiet. But yesterday was reading on a travel site some heated exchanges from people upset/disgusted with other "campers" behavior, the noise from generators, dogs and some people feel it's there right to play music, loudly. When wife and I moved to CO in 1979 we tent camped and after 4 yrs or so got disgusted with people in the campgrounds so we backpacked to get away and have some solitude. Now many of those places are often full of people. I've had mostly good experience in the places I've stayed with the trailer but it's really not what I consider camping. but some of things that many people consider acceptable behavior nowadays in campgrounds is really troubling - too many self centered jerks that care only about themselves. I've seen some RV parks where the vehicles are absurdly packed in close to each other - one comes to mind is I think is called Happy Valley in South Fork CO , jammed with Texans in the summer, I'll never stay in places like that.

“ like that” meaning the Texans or the packed in situation? Or both ?

the packed situation, where I live now in CO don't see many Texans, but would see great numbers summertime in Pagosa Springs, escaping the heat of Texas. I actually have a few friends living in Texas and the development where I lived in Pagosa had numerous full time transplants and others with 2nd homes. I looked up the RV park, it's called Fun Valley, from hiway 160 (shown in the pic) it looks like they are packed in tightly. place is chock full in the summer.

I was finally able to pick up my TT (Grand Design AIM 16ML). I was getting a little over 13 mpg until I got close to home. I had a few long hills to go up and ended up at 12.7 mpg. I was going around 60 - 65 mph. Didn't have any issues with trailer sway, but the truck did bounce some when traveling on some parts of the drive. Not sure if it was because the trailer was completely empty ?‍♂.

Can't post picture. Keep getting file is uploading even though I let it attempt to load overnight. ?‍♂?‍♂?‍♂

Nice little rig. The mpg is average for that weight/size trailer....mpg will suffer more from the large front sail area than from weight.
Bouncing has nothing to do with trailer empty weight....more from the rear suspension.....get a good pair of rear shocks and a set of Sumo Blue Rear Bump Stops.....should take care of "bouncing"

Have the adjustable Icon shocks in the rear. I had them set on 7 for the drive. Will be setting them up to 10 the next time I tow it. I have the blue sumo bump stops, but I wasn't able to get them put in before I picked up the TT ?. Hopefully that will help with the bouncing as the drive was only a couple hours, but my back was killing me from it by the time I got home ?.

It is hard to determine what each Ranger will need....my advise is based on a 2 WD which needed a good rear shock set up and the Sumo's.
When you load your trailer it will definitely have a heavier tongue weight, so that may get rid of some of the "bouncing" as your loading the rear of the truck.
Safe travels with your new rig....

If you want to see your wallet cry, tow at 65mph into a 30mph headwind in southern Minnesota.

Turns out, physics doesn't care what motor or if it is a hybrid or not. Battling that wind is a real M-F'er.

A week back I towed in a 25 mph headwind, saw 7.5 mpg , going no more than 62 mph. All to get to a p*ss poor antiquated campsite in Bryce Canyon N'tl Park. Sounds like you are putting on some miles and putting out some $$ doing so. I don't track my fuel spending, might make me come to my senses and bail if I did so.

It was really just for this trip. New truck, long trip, etc. I probably won't pay much attention to it after this.

Door-to-door 4170 miles. In 2 weeks.
