Yeah, windload is always my concern. I’m a huge fan of pop-ups, since they fold so low for towing, BUT, I’m not the only one sleeping in the thing sooo I have a bigger trailer now. I’m a tent camper, the wife is thinks of a window faces the woods, then she is camping.
I will have to get used to traveling slow and steady
One of the changes I’m making to the ranger is adding less offset rims to move the tires out just a bit to give it a slightly wider footprint, which will hopefully help stability. Once someone spec’s out some rear airbags I intend to add a set to assist with the heavier tow loss, which will reduce bounce. So hopefully the combo of wider stance, airbags, trailer brake control and the antisway towing package for the RV will help control the tow and any negative results

The active bump stops are pretty good, the tongue weight max is 750# which is about what my father in law's Silverado 1500 is. I'm going to run it for a bit and see how it behaves before I start messing with stuff.

I plan to tow a 7X16 foot cargo trailer that will be converted into a mobile woodworking shop. Will have hand tools and small power tools (10-inch lathe, scroll saw, 10-inch table top circular saw). Will be used for small projects and to teach woodworking, mostly to younger children. Have not ordered trailer yet, waiting for estimated ranger delivery date.

Well, got it and made it home. 33 ft. and just under 6200 lbs. Terribly cross winds from a storm front moving through the area. As far as the towing strength, it pulled it like my big truck. Still a little different feel, especially with the cross winds, but overall,,,outstanding performance.

That’s a big trailer! Can I ask how it felt getting passed or passing semi trucks? We’re you pushed out of your lane?

It did push me, but not out of the lane. There were terrible cross winds anyway every time I hit a stretch of road without trees, so it was like getting passed by a semi constantly it felt like. I will be happy when I can get some airbags. Those and the anti-sway hitch should do the job.
Remember your ranger is only about 400lbs lighter than the f-150

I’d like to tow my competition BBQ Trailer (Old Town Smokers) but I’m gonna leave that for my buddies f350. It’s 6k-7k pounds and has weight distribution anti-away hitch but it’s gonna catch a lot of wind. Maybe I’ll tow it around town a couple times to say I can.

Haven’t towed the trailer yet. That’s the job of my 2011 f-150.

What's the GVWR on your truck and if you say 7500 lbs you are well I'll say @#$% and leave the rest to your imagination. Yeah the manual says 7500 but you need to read the Page before that see picture. As for that boat, with the GM mush brakes these have and no trailer brakes I don't know. My 2005 no problem my boat is 17 ft single axle also. If you have a door sticker that says 7500 I want a picture of it or it didn't happen.

I think you may be confusing towing capacity and GVWR.
