thanks. I just made a small aluminum plate to act as a "backer" or "fish plate" as it's known, to the inside of the case.
matched the hole pattern of the ROTOPAX mount. I used stainless steel hardware to mount it.
works like a champ!
This is the trailer i want to get. Dutchmen Aerolite 2423BH
has a dry weight of about 5,700 lbs. 28 ft overall length.
i'm a bit concerned about towing it with my Ranger Lariat FX4 crew.
Yeah true, but i don't like laying bikes down bat all, especially expensive ones and on top of each other.
I definitely prefer to stand them up in a tray or on a fork mount. I just wish the Ranger offered two wheel bases, so you can get a Crew Cab with a 6' bed...problems solved lol.
Here's my TREK fuel ex 9.8. size: 17.5 in. with 27.5+ wheels/tires, it fits....barely!
My TREK Farley 5 (18in) actually fits better. so does the gravel bike.
There's two issues as i see it.
1) the front of the ARE V-series cap, where it overhangs the front edge of the trucks bed, has a gap...
got mine Tuesday, so far so good, except for small leak in both front corners (which i'll fix) and my mountain bike fits!
(truck is dirty after the rain we had Tuesday night / all day Wednesday)
yeah, looking at it closely, i think it's not forward enough on the bed. The boxes are "Swing Cases" by Undercover.
they're awesome.
see my post https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/whats-in-your-truck-gear-box.4080/#post-59920
i just added the Rotopax fuel can. perfect place for it.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! new cap installed Tuesday ARE V series.
like it so far, but Tuesdays rain showed some leaks in the front corners. will add some extra weather strip where there's small gaps.
the LED lighting is awesome.
next is a BedRug mat.
I should be getting my A.R.E. V Series cap installed Monday or Tuesday .
color matched, slider front and side windows, L.E.D. light strip down the center w/ prop switch. Dark gray headliner.
will have pics soon.
hey everyone, i'm probably pulling the trigger on an ARE cap (lightening blue)with slider side windows, lined ceiling and LED lighting.
My truck is a 3 year lease (picked it up in April) but having it for 3 years, i need the cap to keep my bikes and gear safe and dry.
so... i will be selling it...
$1,100 for 4 Ranger Raptor wheels is a great price i think.
Remember, these wheels are tested at Ford's Wheel & Tire test lab for strength and durability.
OEM wheels in general are stronger and more durable than most aftermarket wheels.
(I worked in Wheel & Tire testing)
If my Ranger wasnt a...
i know Fall is just around the corner...but it's never too early to get the truck gear box sorted and prepared for winter.
some items i keep in the truck all year.
since the in-cab storage is next to nothing compared to my 2015 F150... a second swing case was a must.
the Genius boost resides in...
I think thats one of the best lifts i've seen yet! wheels and tires arent ridiculous and sticking way out past the fenders... and no stupid oversized wheels. Lots of tire protection. Wheels look beefy too.
great job.
NOTE: I'm just hitting 4k on the odo, and do mostly city driving since i live 3 miles from work.
I'm averaging 20.2 (when i stay out of sport mode lol)
taking a big 1000 mile road trip this week. It will be the first real long highway trip, so i'm curious as to the highway MPG's
stay tuned!
yeah, the bed is so small now, my bike barely fits lol.
i love the fact that its easily removable. it holds a lot and is very handy.
i plan on getting the right side one before winter.
here's the link, but may not be the right size, i just clicked one.
they have various sizes and colors, but color choice is kind of limited.
i think fr the Ranger they came in 4 or 5 colors...
i looked up the size for the truck and searched by size.M12x1.50 i think...
