Well I just installed the rears today. Driver side went on smoothly, passenger side was a little more "involved" lol. What a difference the ride is already. Very happy I did this.

The passenger side, with the exhaust, took me a few minutes longer. That upper nut on the passenger side was also the only one of the four I could not get my torque wrench to.

Put my rears on yesterday, but have yet to drive due to Snowmaggedon here in Colorado. Speaking of torque, couldn't find any specs so I went with 65 ft-lbs

I'm a detail kind of guy so if your posting an installation and test drive afterwards, give out the torque specs you used and what was the first impression of the after install ride. (in what way)

Factory manual specs the torque at 52 ft-lbs. Put mine on yesterday. Used a ratchet strap to compress shock. Only issue was I had the passenger side upper nut come out of retainer and hang up on frame. Getting torque wrench on bolts was not a problem. Rides great, big improvement.

Thanks for that, I'll go back them off a bit. Only torque specs I could find were from a lift mod online manual, they were calling for 70 ft-lbs which seemed high, so I went a little lower. Measure with a micrometer and chop it with an axe.

The factory manuals are posted here online in the maintenance section.

Same here. The nut fell out on me on the passenger side so it took me a few to "feel" the nut back into the slot.

Okay, finally got out there today with the new Bilstein's on the rear. VAST improvement. Low speed compression is firmer - which is good because it dampens the wallowing the FX4 shocks have which made any given road bump an adventure.

The ride is slightly firmer, but it is good in the sense that the rear seems more planted to the road and smoother at higher speeds without the oscillation you get on uneven highways.

Should have done this a long time ago....

The perfect post I was looking for. I just ordered my rear Bilsteins and I'm going to have them installed for $55 . I'm 62 with a bad back otherwise I'd surely do it myself. Yep, and don't call me Shirley!
Had my Bilstein 5100s installed on the rear today and must say I am stoked at how well they perform! What a remarkable difference in the bounce and the sway! I could not be happier!

I got mine through Stage3Motorsports...ordered complete set and rear arrived in a couple days...fronts still in the mail but still within a week for full delivery. Installing rears today...might have the fronts done professionally due to spring compressor fears...they can be tricky.
Let us know how it works out. I was about to do front and rear...but my oldest son just got laid off. I'm standing down for a bit.

Fronts on...ride is level...feels like a truck now. Had some issues with install though...first spring compressor would not fit between coils, took to a Big O tire store who said they could do it...their wall mount compressor didn't have enough reach and couldn't compress enough. Finally rented the "tool of death" and it worked perfectly. It feels much better leveled...smoother ride overall, and looks great with the Nitto Terra Grappler 285/65/R18 tires. Having alignment done Thursday...did not realize that not all shops will align with coil over struts.
By the way...fairly complex swap for a non-mechanic. Over 6 hours of actual work...and it rained half way through so my butt was soaked...LOL!
