I raised my front 2 inches with Bilstein, replaced the rear with Bilstein. I noticed the head lamps were out of position. The truck is almost level, but noticed the lamps were a bit high. I almost never drive at night, but I need to reposition the headlights to be correct.
I guess I've been fairly lucky. I was getting 24-26 until just recently. I'm not sure why, but the mpg have dropped to about 22.
I still like the truck, but still a bit concerned. No codes or lapse in performance. No 4x4, but I did lift the front end up 2 inches a year or so ago.
Just...
I began to notice the low battery blue screen on startup with my 2019 Ranger. Then I saw the truck loosing functions like unlock and radio not turning on when I started the Ranger (always leave it on). Not being a smart person, I turned to this forum to learn as much as I could about this...
That seems to be my experiece.
My youngest son used to have an Acura fancy car. It was always tearing up batteries, and I had to take it in for battery replacement. I finally asked the service manager to check for electrical shorts (I was tired of showing up every month) as my son was a...
Just a quick follow up...
I used the NOCO Genius 10, charged the battery, left it on the full charge to let it trickle charge for about 2 hours. Have had no more issues with the low battery screen, and systems turned off on the truck, since I did this...approximately 2 weeks. I still haven't...
That's good to hear. Since I didn't know what to expect, I wanted to understand all that I can expect and avoid the complications. Until the wife's batterty died, I didn't even know you had to register the battery with the car. So, I figured I would have to go through the same steps with the...
Sorry, I mis-spoke. The truck came with the AGM. I found this out when I went to AutoZone and had it tested. That was my surprise, I expected a lead acid battery. I'll try the charger to see how that does.
I was surprised the truck came with a lead acid bettery. But, I've never had a problem before the screen came up when I start it. It still starts liks a champ. From what I've read, the AGM batteries have to maintain a high percentage of charge (probably more then the 70% that Ford has...
I had the battery tested yesterday. It tested good at a 48% charge. I was surprised it was an AGM battery. It's always cranked up without a problem. I picked up a NOCO Genius 10 and I'll charged it up. And I'll start driving the truck more often. Maybe that was the problem all along. All...
I stopped by an AutoZone yesterday and had the battery checked out. It was good with a 48% charge. Since I rarely drive the truck, and with information here, I thought I'd start by trying to charge the battery. I expected the battery to be a lead acid battery, but found it to be a AGM. I...
Thanks Node. I appreciate the advice. I'm not a truck jockey...so I have to be careful. One small step at a time. I've seen lots of ideas, I just need to figure out the best way.
That's an awesome response.
I really do appreciate the info. I never had any problem with the truck...so I read stuff here, but never had any input...until I started seeing the low battery screen when I started the truck. Best truck I ever owned.
I still learn a lot from the folks here...
Very good video. I thought my battery was dying, but I really don't drive the truck very much. It's a 2019 with 14,000 miles. Maybe, instead of a new battery, I just need to take it outside the garage every once in a while. Any thoughts?
When you used the OBD-2 adaptor, did you attach it to a separate 12 volt battery, or a 12 volt power constant source? I've seen cables and attachments for both. And I've seen where individuals attached a power source to the battery terminals while exchanging batteries eliminating the OBD port.
