After 2.5 yrs battery started showing signs it wasn't up to the task, shutting down messages and ASS not working. Replaced at around 3 yrs under warranty and BMS was replaced also. Now about 3 months later and occasional and driving still working fine. No trickle charge or SOC change and ASS still enabled. We'll see how long it goes this time.

My Batt is coming up on 4 yrs and tests good, decided to go bms-less a year back, however stepping up to the plate in a big way and purchased a YONHAN Battery Charger 10-Amp 12V available at Amazon for $29.99 . This thing should it work has a sizable feature set with 7 charging modes including a desulfation function, so sadly after 40 yrs am replacing this:

with this which does measure soc :

Will entertain offers on my associated for antique collectors, yes it does work.

I got my 2022 Ranger in April of 2022. Almost 40000 miles and was wondering if I should think about getting a new battery to be pro active with upcoming cold weather coming.

I replaced my 2019 XLT battery this year more as being pro active ,as it still was starting good. But it was 6 years old and I had a long trip planed and didn't want to get stuck with a weak or dead battery . I still have it to us in another car if needed .

2020 lariat, oct build. I replaced it in Jan 2025. I would imagine a 2022 would make it through this winter, but you do you.

My first symptom was ASS stopped working, and then it locked the doors with the fob inside!

The AGM batteries in both our 21 Ranger and 21 Jeep are coming up on 5 years and are not showing any signs of giving up.

Not sure if it is a contributing factor or not but Auto Start/Stop has been disabled in both vehicles from about a month after buying them.

4 years. In my experience they're on borrowed time after 3 years. About a year ago, the weather wasn't even cold yet, I went down to the garage one morning to go to work, turned the key, and got nothing but a click-click.

On my 22 the original battery lasted less than a year, because I had changed from my tennis shoes to steel toe shoes for one of the jobs that I do at work. Long story short, my idiot self left the interior lights on, battery life left over was just enough to drive to Quick Lane and get it replaced. 🤦‍♂️

I’m in the NE so colder weather here. Mines a 2020 that was bought in December of that year. Still on original battery. Daily commute now is 30 minutes each way for work. No issues now with longer commute. I changed my BMS from factory 70% to 90% charge capacity months after getting the truck. Some warned against doing this and others thought it made sense. I did have issues with low battery charging for the other job I had with a 12 mile daily commute. Well time has told on that theory. I purchased Forscan so I could adjust this and also disable ASS another battery drain.

I replaced mine on my 19 XLT last fall because it had a factory battery in it and since I bought the truck last July was not sure how old it was, factory or a ford replacement. I put the next size up Diehard in. Growing up in Michigan winters, I never had an issue with Diehard batteries. I kept the old battery just in case. Well just in case happened and the old battery is still starting my daughter-in-law's Jetta. My dad was a Sears fleet mechanic so of course we always had to buy our batteries from Sears.

I am on my 3rd battery in 4 years. First covered by warranty. Second failure was a slow bleed where the remote features were disabled immediately, in july....

Turned my target SoC up in the software and upgraded to the lariat battery size. Hoping this one lasts a reasonable amount of time.

2020 Ford Ranger - so my battery is almost 3 years old. I recently had to get the truck jumped by AAA in the past week, 3 different times. Each technician told me your battery looks great, alternator looks great, but something was probably left on. I can assure I had not left anything done. After the first dead battery, I made sure to check each time i left the truck. After all this back and forth, I finally just put a new battery in. Are these stock batteries only built to last 3 years or so? Maybe I just got unlucky. I live in Socal, so decent weather. I did however do a snow trip at the grand canyon and bryce over new years weekend. So I'm wondering if that decreased the life of my battery. But how long did your original battery last for you?
About two years
