Did you ask if it , the oil , had fuel in it? If so , you have another problem. Best to change the engine oil and then keep a weekly check on it to see if it begins to rise on the stick .

You might also want to check the spark plugs , make sure they are still torgued correctly. If they back out some , they will make that " ticking " sound also .
