gummed up EGR valves have haunted a lot of models. I'm curious if ford ends up pushing a service bulletin for this.

Thankful for this thread ! Started to think my tune might’ve damaged the transmission. My truck has 80k miles on it . Will be ordering the part

Just noting another replacement of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation sensor here that COMPLETELY changed how my truck feels. I first noticed a sort of rough idle maybe a month ago (2019 with just over 50K); then it started occasionally stuttering, etc. at low rpms like many here mentioned. Started using Sport or Tow/haul mode to help a little. A week ago found this thread, ordered the part, and yesterday took not even 30 minutes to swap it out. As soon as the engine started up I could feel the difference in the idle. Driving around all day actually trying to get it to stutter and couldn't. Totally smooth.

Another huge improvement I have noticed, which I didn't really expect, is when coming to a stop. Before, I just felt the transmission downshifted hard sometimes; apparently those jumping/slamming shifts were at least partly due to this sensor acting up and not sending the correct info to the engine?? Slowing down, coming to a stop feels entirely different now.

So yeah, easily the best $50 you can spend if you're having the issues listed in this thread.

Were you getting a lurch on upshifts? My truck has been doing this for a couple months. If I take it very easy on the gas it seems to behave but if I get on it the shifts are abrupt and sport mode makes it even worse.

Yours does not seem to be the same as what I was experiencing or most that replaced the EGRC sensor. The problem with it seems to be the engine trying to run at too LOW of rpms and using Sport or Tow/Haul mode to keep the rpms up actually helped. ?

They discovered my truck is doing this at my last visit to the dealership for the umpteen time for yet another warranty repair. Service manager asked if I had any driveability issues after tech test drove my truck after replacing the broken shifter.I said yea, it has never ran or shifted right in 2 years. There was a bunch of codes they cleared, it runs a little better but still not right. This sounds partly what mine is doing. I'm going to fix it myself by getting rid of this p.o.s. this fall. More repairs done in two years than all my other trucks i've owned combined.

Might try eBay or try my used one as mentioned in my last post.

I can see it now. Shortage of parts to fix. Trade in before prob gets worse to avoid the wait on parts. Large portion of used market gets flooded with unreliable vehicles on verge of repair

Kills me that the part is sold out all over but the service departments will claim they haven't heard about this part being the cause of this issue.

Most likely everyone here bought them all up online to fix it themself. lol I ordered one just to have on hand as it seems inevitable it's going to happen. Got an email yesterday morning the part is backordered until 8/22/22.
