Has anyone done a complete 2019 Ranger oil/filter change by themselves yet?

The drain plug shouldn't leak if properly torqued. The '06 Ranger (Ranger #5) had the same type of plug (integrated gasket) and never leaked (8 years, 60,000 miles, 15+ oil changes). The '19 Ranger hasn't leaked either (at least not yet... :fingerscrossed:).

Thanks for posting this. So the 2019 Ranger oil pan drain plug has an integrated gasket, and not one that can be replaced?

It gets replaced by changing out the plug it's self. I say again, Fumoto valve with the extension and forget about it.

You've changed the oil on your 2019 Ranger?

I'm on the 3rd change coming up this next week of so (when I hit 20K total miles). Yes, I've changed it myself.
Thanks, good to know. When I bought oil filters I asked the parts guy at the dealership if the truck needed replacement gaskets for the oil pan drain plug... he said he didn't see any. Didn't exactly instill confidence in me.

Find the Fumoto thread, you need the F107 and the ADP107 from memory. Never remove it again.

I just changed mine at 8300 MILES for the first time because...well procrastination. Also I've always used synthetic and I wasn't really thinking clearly.

DON'T WAIT THIS LONG!

IT WAS PITCH BLACK!

PS filter is accessed through drivers inner fender.

Welcome to turbo motors where the oil is pitch black on day 3.

And the fact that Ford uses a synthetic blend means it's nearly pitch black out of the bottle.

I got the synth blend out at 4500 miles and guess what, it was pitch black.

The next change was 6500 miles later, Mobil1/FL400s it was pitch black,

This change will be at 9000 miles at 20K with Mobil1/Mobil1 filter, and it will be pitch black.

Which Mobil1 are you using, Mobil 1 Annual Protection Ultimate Full Synthetic SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil?

I either use regular Mobil1 or the extended protection (15K miles). But I change it between 7 and 9k miles depending on convenience, and price of oil. I would do the yearly protection if I only drove a few thousand miles a year in large spurts.

The whole change costs me like 23$ with a mobile 1 filter because they offer a big ol' rebate a few times a year, and I usually buy enough for the year. I also have the Fumto, so it's going to be mad cake easy.

Fumoto FTW. Had them in all my vehicles. Never had any problems and after the first oil change. Everything else was so much easier and quicker. Just remember the valve is closed before adding oil. I almost made that mistake. haha. I was able to unscrew the filter with my hand.

Went with Mobile1 full syn and NAPA platinum filter at 9k. Having a oil analysis done on the factory stuff to see the breakdown.
