I towed my little trailer for the first time today. It weighed about 1200 to 1500 lbs. I felt the trailer behind me since it squatted a little and road a bit better, less bounce. The Ranger had no trouble pulling and still was getting over 21 mpg. But my Ranger is kind of mad at me for making it go to the dump on it's first trip pulling anything.

Talking to a friend with a 2022 tacoma who tows a 3900 lbs (uvw) trailer with a boat attached to it, he said it tows fine as the boat isn't heavy but it has a 350 Cid v8, so should you encounter someone towing going 35mph and the engine screaming it could well be this guy, typical Taco owner living in an alternate reality, but he did say something about the drum brakes overheating going down long inclines.

love this RV fails site , seeing some of the posts though is a stark reminder that some folks are out there following unsafe towing practice and the need to be vigilant on the road - whether towing or not. Grumpaw - do you think in this video a load balancer/anti sway hitch was used ?

Borrowed a T.T. and drove up to the ADKs for the weekend.

I haven’t towed anything yet. But I am in the middle of adding oxy/acetylene tanks and the welding cables And hoping to keep it to 900# GW. I’m looking forward to taking it out for spin with the trailer. ( old pic from last winter.)

Is he towing two trailers at one time with it? That would be insane! A small bowrider boat with a 350 v8 would be a 19' - 20' boat. I can easily see that weighing @ 4000 lbs on a single axle trailer. Most boats like that would be on a tandem axle trailer so they would weigh a bit more. Haha and we are not even considering another 3900 uvw trailer.

I've not actually seem him do it but he says he does - but it's a seasonal thing, towing to the lake and back just 2x. Now you mention the word insane..........see below. I've seen several posts on RVfails with the towing truck's rear axle pulled out from the suspension, now that would be an embarrassment
