  1. Report your MPG

That is interesting. I would be lucky to hit 21 mpg driving from Phoenix to Tucson. That would be cruising at @ 75 mph.
  2. Transmission flush vs fluid replacement

That is a question for smarter people than me. How many miles are on your Ranger? I installed my FitzStick at @ 35k miles. At that time I pumped 6 quarts of ATF from the pan and added 6 fresh quarts plus the Lube Guard. Make sure you do not overfill. Just measure what comes out and put the...
  3. Transmission flush vs fluid replacement

That price is insane! For a Ford tech, I'll bet it is less than a 1 hour job. Plus the 7 quarts of Mercon ULV ATF, OEM transmission filer, filter seal, and transmission pan gasket should be @ $200 in parts. Chris M is spot on. Since you are looking to add Lube Guard, I would definitely install a...
  4. Sedona

LOL! I Back in the mid-90's I used to own a 1988 2-door S-10 Blazer 4x4. I remember taking it down Schnebly Hill Rd from Sedona to I-17 and it was uneventful. How that trail has deteriorated over the years... There is no way I would take my Ranger down it now, but I would seriously consider...
  5. Sedona

    Very nice!
  6. Sedona

Are you going to drive Schnebly Hill Rd? That is a very scenic off-road trail. I have yet to drive it with my Ranger, but I did drive it with my Tacoma. The Taco with the TRD-Offroad had just enough clearance. Most people on the trail had lifted Jeeps.
  7. Transmission Replacement after Tune?

On mine the temperature is consistent on both the drivers and passenger side. It just makes a clicking noise from time to time. I think the biggest problem with Ford is that the Techs do not want to do warranty work anymore. Just a thought, but maybe Jim Farley needs to step down.
  8. Transmission Replacement after Tune?

Stop it with this tune talk! You guys are killing me and are going to make my wife really mad when she sees the bill.
  9. Transmission Replacement after Tune?

There is nothing I hate more than to leave my Ranger at the dealer for a week or more and then they tell me no problem found. Thankfully, I have not had any transmission issues yet, but I do have a HVAC actuator issue. Of course, dealer says no problem found yet it is clicking away. I figure I...
  10. Downsized today

    Very nice!
  11. Redarc brake controller.

I have the non-AEB version of the Redarc and it works fine. I followed the eTrailer installation video and it looks like it was factory installed.
  12. Local Chevy Car Show

    That would be awesome.
  13. Local Chevy Car Show

Yes, the older cars are way too expensive. The cars I regularly do searches for the 2003-2004 Mach 1 Mustang and late 90's-2002 Z28 or Trans Am. My First two v8 Mustangs were Fox bodies and I would consider one of those too. After all the renovations my wife did to the house, getting a house...
  14. Local Chevy Car Show

Nice pics. I love those old cars. I have owned 6 Mustangs over the years and I have been hinting to my wife that I want to buy another one. I have been without a Mustang since 2019 and that is too long - LOL! The only thing that has been stopping me if the thought of kicking my Ranger out of the...
  15. 2019 Ranger Completely Dead, Then Fine minutes later

My Ranger did this a few months ago. I tested my battery and it failed the health test on the tester. It has not happened since I replaced the battery.
  16. Engine shot - Coolant intrusion - 74k miles on my Ford Ranger 2.3L I4 xlt

Out of curiosity, did you get a quote from a reputable private garage for the engine swap? I doubt they would beat the $7369 on a new motor installed, but I wonder how far they would be from that quote.
  17. The struggle is real

True, but if they are offering $8k off MSRP on a Lariat, I do not think many are paying close to MSRP on a Ranger (non-Raptor).
  18. The struggle is real

If you want a new truck, go buy it. You now have the OTD price for the new Lariat so what do you think you will get for your 2021 Ranger? That is the figure I would be looking at. If you keep you 2021 Ranger, and the transmission goes, you will be paying cash, and you will have options. You...
  19. The struggle is real

That is a lot of cash for new car smell.
