The semi trucks and Box vans are pretty intense when you drive by them.. The hell wig sway bar really helped out quite a bit. Also make sure you have a great weight distribution system
Yeah, I have a Blue Ox hitch and sway bars that dealer set up. It seems beefy and legit. Just haven’t had much experience with it on freeway. I did a couple miles and I was only going 55 mph and nothing seemed horrible.

Remember to recheck the hitch setup once you get the trailer loaded for travel. The dealer probably set it up for dry weight. It will be different with the trailer loaded with your stuff. This is where a CAT scale comes in.

2015 Rockwood roo 233s 5000 lbs dry. 2021 Ford ranger towed it across the white mountains in NH and home mix of dirt roads steep hills and highway. Ford brake controller, and wdh. Once set up it was a pleasure to tow. Engine barely broke 3,000 rpm and that was on a steep decline with lots of engine braking.

Bought the truck for it's towing ability and not disappointed.

2022 Tahoe T16 with 75HP Mercury. You don't even know its behind you (but the MPG does). I have to tow it 10 miles to gas station, then 2 miles back to lake. Than 6 miles home so MPH don't really matter.

Finally took a good pic of the truck and boat together. Just a 16’ Aluminum Bass Boat that weighs less than 1k so no, I don’t really know that it’s back there when pulling.

All Rangers look better with a boat behind them. :like:

Well, the Jeep is still giving me brake issues! Had both front calipers lock up on me while driving for the third time...guess that's part of why I got a trailer! Anyways, had to go get the Jeep, so thank goodness for the Ranger! Man does this impress me time and time again! trailer dry is about ~1700 lbs and the Jeep is approximately 4700 lbs (weighed at CAT Scale). The truck barely even knew it was there! But boy does the trailer brake make a nice difference when stopping! And of coarse, it's fall in Michigan, so had to make a stop by a cider mill while we were out for cider and donuts and an apple pie! Haha!

I posted mine a month or two ago, but I thought I would share this shot from our last camping trip in western Michigan. Couldn't be happier with our truck's performance towing a solid body travel trailer. The trailer is 23' exterior (19' interior) and weighs 3900 lbs dry. A joy to pull as long as we stayed off the interstate :)

What were the problems on the Interstate? I am looking at a similar trailer. MPG? Too much sway? Or not enough power? Thanks

Are you just using standard ball hitch? What’s the tongue weight on this?

Are you using a standard ball hitch. I’m towing 1700lb trailer and it’s terrible. Every small undulation in the road makes it fell like the truck is misfiring. (Back and forth jerking motion)

Yes, using a B&W Tow and stow 5 1/2" drop hitch. Nothing special on the setup. It definitely tows better with some more weight and everything is loaded level, as with any vehicle towing. With the wrong bump spacing in the road, every once in a while, I will feel what you might describe as a jolt or a jerk, but it is just weight transfer from the trailer going over bumps. The smaller trailers I have pulled I have noticed it more as the trailer has a tendency to bounce more! Just my two sense, however I am not sure in your specific situation!

good question, as I towed a 5,000lbs trailer at 65 mph without issues on an interstate. I did try to keep it 60 or less for fuel economy but hit 68 mph while passing a a tiny little suv hauling

I have a WDH hitch not sure of the make but ratings put it at 7,000 pounds. (bought the hitch with the trailer as it was too small for the previous owners new trailer). Got lucky that his RAM 1500 and the Ranger had similar ride heights.

haven't had a chance to put it on a scale, but at least 550-600 pounds of tongue weight.
