I'm getting warnings today from FordPass about some functions might not work - like remote start. Wonder if there is a link?

Hi Folks,

My handycapped daughter's Escape is flashihng an update. She is unhappy to have to take a day off work to get done at the dealer. My response...sync sucks. even with an IQ of an 8 year old, she agrees. Her question is "Why can't they get it right?". Good question !

Not related…. They had this same issue the other day. At least they are pushing the warning to the app so you know it won’t work.

When you do the master reset do you loose maintenance records in FordPass?
No. It did take awhile for FordPass to go from "Activation Pending" to "Activated" though.

I will say that downgrading to 20351, then doing a Master Reset, and then having to set everything back up again was a slight PITA, but everything is back to the way it should be, and my Sync seems a bit snappier. I turned off automatic updates and will let this sit for a good while.

Downloaded, xferd to usb, installed, ok, but lost all XMSerius subscriptions other than radio.
XM support says is a known problem with Ford Rangers and their troubleshooting says to do a 'Master Reset'.
I know that'll lose me my dozen favorites in NAV that'll I'll have to type in again, a real PITA, so I'm going to wait to see if it'll work itself out over time.
SOMEBODY at FORD and XM really needs to get together to figure out the conflict.
This update breaking stuff that was working nonsense, to this customer, is getting pretty old.
Update:
Build 21098
Fired up the truck this morning, decided to check, and all the XM Subscriptions are 'green', active!
And I didn't do anything since my previous post, other than several key-cycles just driving around.
(No master reset, no requested XM resets, nothing)
Of course they could be gone tomorrow, who knows!
Just thought I'd mention it ...

Let us know. Mine worked for a half of a day on 21098

As a side note, I really like the refreshed look of the Ford Owner website. The only time I go there is to download a Sync update. There's a lot more information available, and easier to get to. It's even flagged that a Sync Update is available.

Finished up the master reset, everything finally working as it should. Downgrading to 20351 and master reset returned all functions to normal. I will park it there for a while.

Well I had it all set going back to 20351 and forgot to turn off automatic updates after the master reset. Duhhhh. I’m getting good at resetting everything though.

Well now I am p____d. Even though Automatic Update was turned off it updated to 21098 anyway. When it was done auto update was still off.

I think someone else had the same issue. Make sure you disable wifi as well as auto updates to prevent it from happening again.

I guess this may be another bug. But if it is caused by rolling back, Ford won’t care because they do not support it.

I didn’t want to lose FordPass capabilities and information? Not sure it needs WiFi but I would think so.

Fordpass works with wifi turned off. Both of my vehicles are set up that way now. No more over-the-air updates for me after this fiasco.
