This will be the heaviest very occasional load for the Ranger - 7,000 lbs total.

This load will probably happen a few times each summer on the dual axle flatbed trailer to get to the occasional show or rally - 5,800 lbs total.

When I'm not carrying a single kayak in the bed using a bed extender, I'll be pulling an aluminum dual jet ski trailer with both kayaks.

What kind of trailer brakes do you have?

Did any of you get a flash when you installed your brake controller?
If not... does your info screen still report if your trailer is connected etc.?
If so... What benefits/features did it get you??

I installed a Teknosha P3 since the dealers have no idea about the Redarc/Ford options yet. I guess they lose out because integrated would have been nice. I know the dash knows something is attached, but I don't know what it does as I've never pulled it anywhere.

Thanks. I too have a P3, but it is on the shelf waiting for someday having a truck in which to install it and for Ford to begin to know their own product.
I can't confirm, but I think the truck knows "trailer attached" and "trailer not attached" without a flash. I think that's about all there is.
I guess owners are expected to know more than the builders.
If I must pay for a flash after buying the tow package I will feel cheated.

Coming from my Jeep which was my last tow vehicle "knowing the trailer is attached" is definitely a step up. I was also sad to discover that the blind spot monitor only works with trailers shorter than 8', which is basically no trailer. (maybe a cement mixer???). The Redarc has some of it's controls in the dash cluster from what I can tell from the Aussie's, but the P3 needs no help I guess.
