When i decided to get rid of my F250 after owning Super Duty's for 18 years, it seemed silly to get rid of the F250 just to move to an F150, and for the most part, I figured the Ranger would suit my needs just fine. And maybe the fond memories of my long gone 1984 Ranger made me want to get...
Ford Employee Pricing is the best deal out there, period. It's even better than my Dealer Employee Pricing (I am a Commercial Accounts Manager at a Ford dealer). I've been with Ford for years, including when I lived in Colorado. Plus, you can stack the current rebate on top of the Employee...
I decided this week to put an order in for a 2026 F150, so I'll have to part with my 2019 Ranger in a few months. Still coming to grips with it all. My Ranger is my baby, it's been a great little truck, but "little" is a big reason for why the wife and I made the decision.
Four years ago, we...
I've had my MBS on my truck for a year now. It's awesome! 2 weeks after installing the dipstick, I did the pan drop, filter swap and 7 qt fluid change using my fluid pump through the dipstick tube. No mess at all when I dropped the pan.
My brother wants one of these dipsticks real bad for his...
2019 Ranger, now 6 years 8 months old, original battery. The first 4 years, I put it on a charger about every 6 months. Now, I throw one of my 1.5 amp trickle chargers on every few weeks because it typically sits for 5 days at a time. I've found that regularly charging vehicle batteries...
I got my Fitzstick late last week and installed on Sunday. Packaging was incredible- Mike, you have some serious OCD. ? I did some shipping many years ago, so a poorly packed shipment really bugs me, but Mike obviously spent a LOT of time and effort coming up with a method of ensuring nothing...
Rock Auto is still running the prices shown above. I just ordered two Motorcraft 5 qt jugs yesterday along with a filter. Should have that order, plus a bottle of Lubegard, and my Fitzstick by the weekend.
I did rear Eibachs summer of 2023, and they made a very slight difference. Did the front Eibachs in September, and they made a TON of difference on bumps, potholes, etc. Now my Ranger handles our garbage roads more like the F150 does - so much smoother and less choppy bouncing around.
But...
The new app sucks a$$. Can't add maintenance record through the app while I'm out in my shop changing oil, rotating tires, etc. Plus, they've moved some of the features deeper into the app. More intuitive, my butt.
It all comes down to the deal my boss and I can put together on the sale price and trade value.
'22 Lariat Tremor with 14k miles vs '19 Lariat FX4 with 42k miles. I had thought, for the last 2 years, about doing the "Tremor" package to my FX4, but IF I can do the swap for LESS THAN 2X the cost...
Well good, more positives than negatives. ?
If I put this deal together, I'll keep my cap and decide after it's installed. I do have a couple of guys that could paint it for me if I decide it needs it. But if it looks good with the magnetic cap, maybe I'll get a custom magnetic grey...
UPDATE:
Looks like it's all moot now, as I can't get a good enough deal worked out. We're off by about $2,000 from where I convinced myself I'd pull the trigger, so looks like I'll keep the '19 for now.
Opinions?
I have an opportunity to trade my '19 Lariat FX4 for a '22 Tremor. I want to...
Got my new offset hitch from Heavy Duty installed today on my Lariat FX4. Tucks up in there nice and neat, ACC stays in factory location, factory FX4 skid plate bolts right back in place, and there's still room to tuck in a set of Rigid pods. One of these days, I'll get my Rigids put back in...
I have an offset version on order with Heavy Duty, so that I don't have to move my ACC. He's been very responsive, typically answering quicker than I'm able to get back online to check his response, and get back to him. Looking forward to getting the hitch and will report back once I get it.
You have to drive for fuel economy to get into the 20s, especially when you move up in tires. I run LT265/70R17 on factory rims & suspension. I can get 24.5 at 65mph, 26.5 at 55 mph. Add in anything other than a highway cruise, and mileage drops quick.
Make a few quick passes on a 2 lane, and...
