I installed the Wilwood Disc brake kit on my 2020 Ranger. This is a high quality kit and an easy bolt on. Took about 5 hours to install. Calipers are 6 piston and rotors are drilled and slotted. Brake line is braded. Ordered through JEGS. Stock colors are Red and Black and I chose black. I was tired of over heating OEM brakes driving in the mountains. These Wilwood brakes are awesome with great feel and power. Price was $1,800.00 and worth it. If you enjoy driving these trucks in Sport Mode this is a great upgrade.

Nice. I have the same issue in East TN. I have replaced two sets of the crap stock rotors due to warping. Mountain driving heats these things up quick. I’m looking at aftermarket stuff now. Brakes are my next upgrade.

Didn’t you make a recent post about upgrading your brakes? Kismet?

Did you do before and after 60-0 stop tests? Just curious I like stats.
Bigger brakes do not always equal braking a shorter distance.. Especially at 60mph. Not saying it wouldn't it's just not always the case. Where it will shine is being more consistent, predictable and possibly better feedback through the pedal. The larger and better rotors in theory will dissipate the heat much better and will not fade out as fast at higher speed and continuous braking.

Also tires are going to be a limiting factor for a test like that.

Anything to improve the on/off brake performance and mush feel of the Ranger is a win

I followed the breakin "bedding" process from Wilwood. Found a good country road to do the 65mph to 5mph light and heavy breaking 10x each. It made my head hurt:crazy:. I have not driven in the tight twisties yet, but the peddle pressure to stop is half the effort. I understand the tires are the limiting factor in braking and handles. The OEM calipers are 2 piston sliders. The Wilwood are 6 piston, 3 on one side, 3 on the other fixed calipers. Rotors are drilled and slotted which will disapate heat and front brake shudder is gone. These trucks are so much more fun to drive than an F150 and the brakes were the big down side. Problem solved!!!!!!

Doesn’t hurt that they look good too!
