I found out that the tie rod ends are different for aluminum and steel knuckles. The real learning moment is that the descriptions don't tell you that anywhere in the listing.

Vortex Defender CCW Enclosed arrived tonight and I installed it. There was blue loctite on the screws, so I used that. I have a tube of the thread locker recommended above, if that fails. Now to hit the range.

I used a 2x6 for my crossbar. So far, its working great. I have been looking in to a metal plate, for longevity, but... so far this is great.

Do you have a link for what you used on Amazon? It's insanely expensive, from what I have found. I need 1020 (1" x 3") in 42" lengths.

Gorgeous day in Breck!

Absolutely gorgeous day in Breck today. We ran Peak 10. There were 9 switchbacks at the top that were technical, though not hard. Amazing scenery. We did get rained on and a little hail.

Used my new Badlands jack to diagnose a bad tie rod. Clunking is driving me nuts. Researching replacement outer tie rods now. If you’re an ITC the hack is $199 right now. $90 off was too good a deal to pass up.

As much as I hate Microsoft, printer subscriptions are worse.
