  1. 2022 transmission needs "overhaul" - just left the dealer.

I have a 2021 2wd xl. So I'm pretty sure mine has the older CDF drum. I've been tuned since the 1,000 mile mark, 86 livernois perf tune. First year owning it I had it downshift hard like someone rear ended me.. It did that twice. Time frame between the 2 clunks were pretty close. I was never...
  2. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

I have 67k. The fluid was pretty dark but that's not always an indication it's bad. The filter material was a dark gray. The magnets had shavings on it but nothing out the ordinary. The trans is shifting better. I am running the firm shift 87 livernois tune and at low speeds it would lurch...
  3. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

I can see now that my first post doesn't make it clear that I was needing a transmission filter. I put a lot of miles on my truck. So I order oil and oil filter in bulk.
  4. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

I won't be dropping the pan unless it's needed. I'll just pump the fluid out from the dipstick and refill.
  5. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

Transmission drain and fill is done! I was able to get a little over 6.5q I lost my only 1/4in extension in the frame going through that hole to get the corner bolt. I have the Fitz stick and it helped tremendously in getting it evacuated and filled. It was so bright outside and the fluid...
  6. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

Well.. I sprayed Amsoil Power Foam through the intake and Im done with the oil change. Just kinda sittin here waiting on Oriellys.. If only they knew what I had planned without me having to tell them.. Is that really to much to ask?🤔 😁😂 If this harbor freight Evacuater/filler upper works as...

12 pack of transmission filters for $39?
  8. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

It's all good man.. It was a pretty long post. So Napa's website doesn't actually list a transmission filter for our Ranger. Figured it was a website error and moved on. Well I just called two local Napa's. One Corp owned and the other is privately owned. Both stated dealer only item and they...
  9. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

I'm sorry I didn't write my post to your liking. I did use some punctuation. Lol No reason for rock auto if I can get it today. According to the Napa website they did not have it in stock.
  10. What normal maintenance made the biggest difference for you?

Changed my plugs a few weeks ago at 65k. Tbh the plugs looked fine and there was not any noticeable difference. My fuel mileage has not changed. The ride is becoming pretty rough and I will soon be changing put the shocks. I'm sure that will make a difference. I changed my diff fluid at 50 or...
  11. My lack of plan is not their emergency..

Well its not really an emergency buuut it does change things up. I had today planned to do an oil change. Seen the Napa deal on trans fluid last week and ordered 12 quarts. Came in yesterday PERFECT!! "I will add that to my Saturday maintenance day. I'm up at 5am and get on the O'Reilly website...
  12. Shock options for the 2wd city truck

I live in the new orleans area and I call it urban off roading. So I 100% understand what you mean, that idea has crossed my mind multiple times. I have 67k on my truck and the roads here are horrendous. The ride is starting to get pretty rough.
  13. Shock options for the 2wd city truck

I'm coming up here soon needing to replace my front and rear shocks. I have a 2wd, don't need/want a lift, and I'm on pavement 99.9% of the time. I know the 4wd/off road members here recommend eibach or bilsteins but that seems a little over kill for my use. A pre-installed spring/shock combo...
  14. Borescope intake

I rented a borescope from auto zone and ran it through the TB. I could not snake it in to see the valves. Went through the sparkplug hole and couldn't get the scope to bend in the direction of the valves. BUT.. My intake is coated in gunk. It was bad enough that the camera came back out the TB...
  15. Borescope intake

I had the idea that I would try to send a borescope through the throttle body into the intake in hopes of catching a view of the intake valves. The TB looks to be sitting to low for that to work or maybe it will and I am just not seeing it. Has anyone tried this or have an idea of how it can be...
  16. Anybody planning to lower their 2019 Ranger?

I would like to lower just the rear a bit if I could. I don't tow or haul anything heavy. Would make it easier to get things out the bed without having to climb in and load our bikes.
  17. Anyone NOT have problems with the Ranger?

2021 2wd xlt just hit 60k two days ago. So far so good. God willing it lasts me much longer. Oil changes every 10k, changed diff fluid at 57k and I havent touched the transmission fluid yet. It's been on the 87 tune by livernois since 1k and that's the only mod I've done.
  18. Very high fuel/coolant numbers on my Blackstone Oil report at 20k.

Check out my oil samples. My potassium and sodium went down as the miles went up. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/2021-ford-ranger-oil-analysis-3-and-4.26654/
