My XLT will be 2 years old end of April 2023. No wind or whistle noise coming from closed windows.

Mine recently started whistling; 12k miles now on a2022 Scab
It has always had excessive wind noise but the whistle is recent.

I see, thanks.
Is there any benefit to escalating to Ford Customer Service? I've read that on these forums, but am not sure at what point that's useful.
Yes, do that.

Some other folks have discovered it was coming from the mirror - cover, or puddle lights, or signal indicator not quite seated properly. They tested it by grabbing hold of the mirror housing while driving and the whistling stopped.

It’s worth a try - costs nothing and you get to drive your truck. ?

btw - the only whistle I hear is my turbo. :)

Yes mess around with the mirror. Drive with it folded etc.

Step 2) Go down the road and soon as you hear it, just slightly crack the window up/down and see if the sound changes. If so, roll window down and reach up in the door Chanel and pull the weather stripping down (it’s just a friction fit) and check it over good. Just messing with it could reposition it enough to quieten it.

Visually Inspect the outer door jamb weather stripping as well. Ensure it’s all attached.

Thanks. But it's definitely not the mirror and it's coming from the back corner of the door or the window.
Inspected the weather stripping on the door but I think it's a window issue, if I had to guess based on the sound, and the fact that it's been raining a lot and there's been no leakage through the door.

Maybe get some damp strips of paper towels and put them on the weather strip sealing area. Not the whole strip just start strategically placed from one spot to another until you find the area.

a saw a movie where a space ship got a hole and oxygen was getting pulled out. the crew hit a smoke bomb to see where the leak was and followed the smoke to the spot. but- i would not do it in the truck. esp while driving. likely works better in space.:like:
It could be that the door needs some adjustment. might not be closing just right to meet with the seals. a dealer should be able to do that for you or any decent body shop.

I wouldn't write it off. Sound travels in weird ways. Its free to check.

Yeah, i have a 2022 xlt fx2. My whistling started out of the blue, for no reason at all. Really strange, i think its something to do with the mirror, just a piece of plastic, a corner hell i don't know. What i can say, is i regret getting rid of my 2020 ranger.

Since you stated it wasn't the mirror.
I guess lowering the window down didn't stop the noise?
Isn't there a moulding on the upper door edge?
If the window is up then air flow could be increasing over the moulding and it might not be seated correctly.
