Yes, there are some that are 5 minutes (timed), and it's super disruptive to traffic; there are a few 5-7-way intersections that build up to such levels of general driver frustration, that even after the light cycles sometimes people can't get through because they pile into the intersection even...
In a high-traffic environment, i really like vehicles shutting off in traffic and not just idling at long lights. Cleaner air is a huge benefit i'm a big fan of (health is important), even at the cost of wear and tear.
Genuine curiosity: has anyone owned a recent (newer) vehicle that incurred...
Exactly. I do want to keep ASS working -- I don't want to disable it :)
When sitting at a light for 5 minutes, I do want the vehicle to shut off.
But, it won't shut off if CC is active, so I'm looking to turn CC off automatically when sitting at a light so that the truck wil shut down, and then...
Is there any way to set climate control to turn off automatically when auto start/stop is active at a light, and then turn back on when the vehicle restarts again?
When i manually set climate control, it will prevent the engine from shutting down at a light. If i want to allow auto start/stop...
Just checking on this again...Does that mirror power tap turn off with the other power outputs (which i do want), or is it always-on (which i don't want)?
I also get the blank screen about every two months. The force reset, though, has never worked for me...i've always had to power cycle the vehicle with a few minute wait before turning back on.
Ah! I see. My mistake. Thank you for the explanation.
Is there any easy way to tell if my mirror is autodim or not? Not sure i've notived.
I have a '21 XLT with 302A / tech package. I don't see it listed on the window sticker, but i'm not sure if it would be listed or not.
The mirror does not...
Ah, you meant side view mirror (not rear view mirror). I was looking for one for the rear view mirror.
"i have a t-harness connector that plug into the rear view mirror to power my dashcam, plug and play"
Thanks for sharing though :)
Mine is very finicky as well, regardless of gas station. It's somewhat frustrating. The rubber bumber definitely pushes the nozzle in odd ways to disengage...
All other times i've floored it, no issues. This one occurrence almost caused me to have a serious accident -- if the cars I was merging into didn't respond in time and quickly hit their brakes while my vehicle froze in their lane, I would have gotten hit.
So I don't believe a drive by wire lag...
Gotcha :D
I'm going to take to the dealership to test drive (upshift from 1-3 are getting worse), but for that I've been trying to get more info by trying to induce different failure modes or rough shifts. So far there hasn't been any stalling like that one time.
Good thoughts and good questions :)
Yes, this is always how I merge into traffic from a standstill -- never had this before.
Unfortunately I don't know if it was a sharper steering angle than normal..
Interesting -- thanks for sharing, and for trying it out! That's good to know, as I definitely wasn't steadily accelerating during that time.
For the 2 other times you've had this: did you get it looked at? Or infrequent enough that there wasn't concern for you?
I was at a standstill halfway out of my stop-and-go lane, trying to merge into traffic. (see first post for more details). When it finally accelerated, there was a small lurch but no huge bucking.
I was thinking more about how long it was, and think 3-4 is more accurate. In any case, not sure what RPM was doing. It was brief enough, and I was concerned enough about getting hit, that I wasn't looking at the gauge...
