Hi all.

I've had my 2023 Ranger XLT for about 2 weeks now and I'm noticing a few noises that I didn't hear when I first got it. As I accelerate, I don't know if it's the turbo but I hear a pretty loud whining/whistling sound. The sound lowers in pitch as I take my foot off the gas and the truck slows down. Is this normal? It only has 400 miles on it so I'm wondering if this is part of the break in process. I attached two videos. One from inside (turn volume way up) and one from outside as I rev the engine.

Hi all,
My 2018 pxII ford ranger had a whistling noise after about 2500 rpm, I found that the after cooler hose that runs to the throttle body had cracks in it causing induction to suck through the cracks causing this noise, once I changed the hose it was gone hope this helps someon. ??

Having the same issue. Gets even louder when I let my foot off the gas. Sounds like it's coming from the right rear.

Any resolution?

Any updates?

I just had my transmission changed at the dealer. Finally picked it up and it's making this same noise around 20-30mph. Never did the whole year prior.

These transmissions can while a bit. Mine got audible before it exploded but yours is brand new and unlikely.

Loose vacuum hose or something boost related. My turbo sounds did get louder after break in but not much.

Yours got louder for the break in, for the break in of your new transmission?

Mine made this exact noise really loud the same day I got it back from the dealer. The noise has gone down a lot but it's still there.

Mine still makes the same noise and I have zero issues. When I went for an oil change the tech there said it's just the sound of the turbo. They use more metal parts that tend to be louder than cheaper turbos that use composite parts. Damn, how did your transmission end up needing to be replaced?

The dealer installed a new valve body trying to diagnose a bump when coming to a stop/acceleration. That's when the transmission acted up. Rough shifts in 4th and 8th gear, rpm flare on 4th gear downshift in sport mode, and eventually bubbles on the dipstick. Brought it back and they swapped it for a new transmission.

My transmission crapped out at 75k. Complete failure most likely CDF drum. Fluid was black. 100k service interval is wrong, trans guy said 30k is safer. I have a whole thread on it.
