Oh, I'm way past that. The house is half framed and roof should be going on by Friday. And you're out of luck, there's no basement out here! ?

Update:
since this thread was derailed about other things.

The technician was able to replicate the problems I brought it in for. Ford is doing a reprogramming of the computer first, another road test tomorrow or anytime the tech can get back behind the wheel....if that doesn't fix the issue they will apparently be tearing apart the transmission and going from there....

I was privileged to work for 2 yrs with the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) as a teen. We were headquartered in Luray, but worked for the Forest Service in Shenandoah National Forest building and maintaining trails.
This would have been 1974-1976 ish.
It was an awesome time in an awesome place.
I also worked for the YCC in Northern Wisconsin durning the mid 70’s for 2 summers was a great job has a teen. Lots of hard work, but rewarding work in the end. We were cleaning up and removing illegal cabins in the national forest. Camp was run by an old retired Marine so was very strict, but was a good wake up for teens needing some direction and discipline.

The oil leak was from a failed gasket seal, Ford actually took 5 days to fix this due to not having the part on hand. So yeah, mostly an inconvenience in the blip of time.

I will mention TSB 24-2101 to the rep when I go in next.

Curious, how many minutes do you all let your vehicles warm up before driving off in them? I have found that with a greater warm up time the truck typically runs smoother.
Hey, sorry about replying to an older post. I'm having the same issues with my 10r80 ranger (21 XLT FX4) even after the reprogram and valve body replacement done this year. Do you know if they did a trans fluid "pressure test" to determine if the CDF drum bushing has failed/shifted?

That has not been discussed with Ford yet. They are doing only the reprogram and road test and then reporting back to me the results.
I will add that their first road test after a reprogram was a failure (the same problem persisted). So this second one is their last resort before moving in to further troubleshooting. Nice product that Ford pushed out to *some* of us….

Today, the second road test after reprogramming failed horribly. Tomorrow they will begin the tear down of the transmission. More updates to follow.
Interesting. Per the TSB they should have only did one reflash then move to the valve body if that reflash failed.

I was informed today that at least one piston inside the transmission is shot. This was their first finding, we will see what else they uncover. My truck has been at the dealership for 7 days now.

Piston is what they told me. And I confirmed that it is a warranty job. Tomorrow they promised more details so stay tuned everybody for our next episode of "what's broken now?"

Glad to hear your still under warranty! Still not fun being without your Ranger. Hope they put a new transmission in for you and not rebuild it.
