After having several Ford trucks with sync I've learned that if your sync system happens to work, somewhat like it should, just leave well enough alone and forget the updates.These updates don't seem to add any new features or create any fixes to existing issues so be happy with what you have and don't invite more problems

Weird. I just updated Sync for the first time since Oct 2021 and had no issues. Didn’t have to re-pair phone and Apple CarPlay all works perfect.

After one of the updates my phone wouldn't connect to the BT in the truck. I had to delete the phone from the SYNC menu and also delete "Ford Ranger" from the BT on my phone. Went back in and paired the phone to SYNC and has been fine ever since.

OP, one thing you could try if you haven't already is to reapply the update. Reformat your USB stick so it wipes everything and then copy over the update fresh. Then stick it back in and let it do its thing as if you didn't already update.

I've seen other posts where the update didn't fully install all parts of an update even though it says it's done. That would make sense as to why most of Sync works, but voice commands don't. It sounds like you're having further issues so maybe this won't work, but it's worth a shot. If THAT fails, you could try it again on a different, freshly formatted USB stick. Or maybe even better yet, do it via Wifi to rule out the USB stick altogether if possible.

Ford says I have update v. 3.4.23088 available, but when I downloaded the update, it was still v. 3.4.22251. Anyone else seeing that 3.4.23088 is available?

I did the update for my XL today, of course, the confirmation file won't upload, but the rest was easy. Last version was 3.4.22200 back on October 27th and this one is 3.4.22251.

Now mine is the 4" unProductivity screen that only lets me make phone calls and see the backup camera.

My date is still wrong though, derr, it's a day ahead but may fix itself if I go further than 1.6 miles to the dump and IF I turn on location on my phone.

Anyway ... did the USB method with the truck running and it took about 10 minutes.

start Soupie, wrong date, bah, insert USB

first message after 20 seconds, then on for about 8 or 9 minutes

next message

screen goes blank for about 15 seconds

logo comes up

normal screen is back, still wrong date

then this came up when I went looking for update info, on for about 15 seconds

then this one

then looked for system info

ford fail, again ...

David, that's crazy you're still having trouble with this. You'd think by now Ford could get their Sync to function properly. I have one last idea that might just work.

If you don't have navigation it will only update to 3.4.22251 even though you installed the 3.4.23088 update.

I was told by Ford that the confirmation upload is no longer available. You'd think they would change their instructions by now to eliminate that step.

I just logged back in to my online account at Ford.com and mine shows disabled too! =(

And on my Ford App, I couldn't find it.

I then went to the truck and it is enabled there. Is your wi-fi also turned on?

Well that sucks. Ford still shows mine as 21194.....truck shows 22251.

Same here, mine never updated and I'm parked close enough to the home router. It never did the one from late October and won't do either confirmation file for the two times I've done updates.

I figure the truck itself shows it, so if anything ever came up, I'm not worried about it.

And these aren't self-driving Teslas, so what could go wrong?
