Mine never did it via WiFi. I'm in range and the truck connects to the home router, but it never did it. Maybe if I waited another month but I did do the USB method roughly a month after the update came out. Maybe Sync doesn't like steel rims ...
ford doesn't push them all at the same time, it can take a while. but total effort invested: zero. worries about uploading an xml file: zero. :)

Well the dealer Fubared my SYNC, I already had updated it, they decided to update it again, now it is stuck in a oversized Lincoln Navigator mode, they ordered another APIM module, the last APIM module didn't fix the primary complaint, which was SYNC is slow, now it's flat broken, cant see HVAC, it's great.
Anybody ever see this? I may try to change the screen through Forscan to see if it would shrink back down, but I'm afraid I may make it worse, I can only control the audio with the steering wheel and volume knob, no touch screen.

Very good point and that'll be my approach from now on, thanks VAMike! =)

Did you make any changes to Sync in Forscan prior to the dealer mucking it up?

What's stupid is I had done the most recent update a few weeks before I took it in, now it wont update, when you hit "check for latest update" the swirling icon just keeps spinning, wont stop, wont update, wont say it's current, it's just lost.

Hard to believe a dealer could muck it up that bad. Well, maybe not…

Any competent dealer should be able to use their master usb to resolve that.

Here's the thing: you don't "do" anything to get the update over wifi, you just leave it alone, turn the truck off when you get home, walk away. Eventually it'll just happen. There's really no point putting effort into these updates, they don't add anything anyway.
That has NEVER worked for me. Have good strong WiFi the truck connects to, just never finishes while running or not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Many of us who have updated to v3.4.22251 (including me) via USB are not getting the XML when the update is complete. The update is successful, we just can't tell Ford.
Ahhh, that sucks. I have always gotten them, just did not know I needed to do something with them till a couple updates ago.

Were you able to successfully upload the XML file?

you literally do nothing. just turn the truck off, walk away. if you sit there watching it, nothing will happen.

Not quit... it got to 62% when I turned it off. Came back out a few hours later with the USB and it had not finished the update. Put the USB in and done in 10 minutes. So for me, I just as soon use the USB and know that it's done.

PS: the only thing I can think off is outside temp. It's been very cold here and don't know how aggressive the "save the battery" system is when the truck is turned off. As cold as it has been, the remote start would not work... the app telling me it was to preserve the battery... which seems odd, in that if you walk out there to start the truck all is fine.
