The reviews are not that good either. Besides the old saying "You get what you pay for" is still true! Spend the money on a proven tune by trusted tuners. Do you really want to take a chance on a $70.00 box on your $40,000 truck? ?My guess would be junk.
Even though that shows compatibility with all of the Ranger engines, the 2.3 from the old Ranger is not the same 2.3 that we have.
That box is sometimes referred to as a "liar" in that it lies to the ECU to increase boost.
With a modern turbocharged engine, there are MANY parameters that need to be taken into account to safely tune the vehicle, which is why a good tune costs hundreds.
A box like that simply tells the ECU that it is seeing lower numbers than reality so that the engine will try to compensate by adding boost.
