My guess would be junk.

Even though that shows compatibility with all of the Ranger engines, the 2.3 from the old Ranger is not the same 2.3 that we have.

That box is sometimes referred to as a "liar" in that it lies to the ECU to increase boost.

With a modern turbocharged engine, there are MANY parameters that need to be taken into account to safely tune the vehicle, which is why a good tune costs hundreds.

A box like that simply tells the ECU that it is seeing lower numbers than reality so that the engine will try to compensate by adding boost.
The reviews are not that good either. Besides the old saying "You get what you pay for" is still true! Spend the money on a proven tune by trusted tuners. Do you really want to take a chance on a $70.00 box on your $40,000 truck? ?

So, the box this thread is named after is the preferred brand?

I get it. I just didn't know if the price was performance based or what. Like I said, this is new to me.

In the last 5 years my daily drivers have included 2 Scouts and a CJ and a ton of island ragamuffins. lol

You have options (including one from Ford Performance) but given their extensive history with Ford, fair price, many tune options, and great customer service it was an easy decision for me and I haven't been disappointed.

I've had many trucks but this is the first turbo I've ever owned so I'm new to tuning trucks too. I wasn't trying to be a jerk with my response just noting that the reviews weren't all that good and you're better off spending money on a quality tune. :)

I've been going back and forth on getting one but right now I'm still undecided. I like this one along with Unleashed but leaning more towards Unleashed because I have a Mac and this one you need Windows to run it. I'm not partitioning my HD (I hate Windows!) and I'm not buying a cheap PC just to rune a tune and it'll never be used again. Sorry but it's 2020 and more people own Macs now and this should be compatible for both.

That's fair, I'm a PC user so It's not an issue.

I was actually trying to find vinyl overlay stickers for the ford emblems and that just popped into the search I was having no luck with. haha

As others have mentioned there are several good options.

On the site you will find good reviews from 4 main tuners and all are comparably priced.

The Ford Performance factory built tune, Unleashed, Livernois, and 5 Star.

I haven't heard anything really bad about any of those and would be confident in their ability and in support of their customers.

That said, just reading this thread you will see high praise for the Livernois tune both in performance and in support after the sale, which is worth a TON.

Thank you guys so much. I'm so torn on this forum. I stumbled on it looking for tire size info and now I know so freaking much more about my truck.

I also kind of hate you people, because I'm already in the poor house and I was happy just driving it to work everyday and now I'm always in sports mode and looking at performance parts. :p?
