One more piece to the puzzle - the dealer replace the purge valve but I noticed (due to it being cold outside) my truck took a long time to warm up. Like 3 miles to get heat. That's a stuck thermostat and maybe the real cause of dilution as it's not getting hot enough. I wouldn't have noticed it in warm weather so that makes sense. Another appt next Friday to sort that out.

Are thermostats still mechanical or is there an electrical component to these now? Anyone else have this issue?

Did you let the truck warm up before driving? If not, three miles doesn’t seem like that long to get heat through the vents.

Ha! We’re 135 pages in and there’s not even consensus that there is an “issue” to fix!

If they're anything like my F150(2.7), I only get some fuel diliution if I do a lot of idling in winter.

Here is my latest Blackstone oil analysis at 19,900 miles. It's a good report, particularly in regards to fuel in the oil. However, if you look at when I first started, you can see a yoyo effect. I have to admit though, that the gas smell in the oil has been much less prevalent during this last round of miles.

I've been using Amsoil Signature Series oil for those interested.

I've been using the Motorcraft FL-910S since the first oil change.

Just got my last Blackstone report today. Seems my break in strategy worked nicely. Set the rings at about 4K and now at time of sample 10.7K my fuel in oil is about 1%. Seeing how these are direct injected turbos I’ll take that as a ok!

Got a 2021 xlt middle of June,oil level been rising on dip stick,Ford still won’t admit There is a problem?changed my oil at 4127 after adding 6 quarts it got the level just below the top hash mark,after 1052 miles the level is right below the top hole now!

Like to know how Moto Wojo made out haven't heard anything for quite awhile. Last thing I read his problem was getting really bad!

What made MOTOWOJO's problem worse is the way the lemon law in his state works. From what I recall him saying after the 12th month of ownership it's no longer covered by the lemon law. His problems started a few months into ownership so by the time he met the lost days of use/visits to the dealership for the same reason it was out of lemon coverage.

Cases like his should have been either bought back or given a new motor by ford an the old bad motor reverse engineered to find the problem.

So to add to this, I just checked my oil for the first time at 3700 miles (bad truck owner!) and it was about 1/8" over full and to quote San Diego's favorite news anchor " I'm gonna be honest with you, that smells like pure gasoline."
So my truck goes in Tuesday to get its diff leak fixed. I'll have them look at it while it is there. Maybe they can do an oil change and reserve me a sample to send in.
