Changed the oil, the spark plugs at 60k, and changed the transmission fluid again. All was good. The transmission fluid is 5k after the first, when I installed the PPE deep pan. Of course, another 10oz of Lubegard Platinum was added.
I received a set of Motorcraft spark plugs from RockAuto that I'm planning to install today. Part # SP-594 or CYFS-12Y-RTS, Iridium. I have confirmed these are the correct ones. Everything I read states the Motorcraft plugs are pre-gapped and ready to go. However, I have checked each one, and...
Interesting. I wonder if they would clunk and make noise if that's the case.
The problem with removing and reinstalling end links at the trail is that you need a fairly level surface or you end up fighting the bar trying to align the holes. Plus, you are rolling around in the dirt to get it...
I'm seriously considering these. I removed my end links a few weeks ago for a couple offroad trips through our local mountains and deserts. It was a HUGE difference in compliance, ride, and comfort. However, on-road handling is not ideal, particularly if you lightly saw the wheel back and forth...
Yes, the other end is out of alignment in the other direction. It's the same for both springs. The Global Leafs have a type of U-shaped alignment guide in the front, but they aren't very snug and allow the lower two springs to misalign.
Hey everyone. A couple of years back, I changed out the stock leaf springs on my Sport XLT 4x4 for the more compliant Global leaf springs. Along with the Eibach Pro-Truck-Lift Stage 2R, the Global leafs made a huge difference in the ride and lifted the rear of my truck another 3/4".
Lately...
I'm using the Bullet Point mount as well. I really like it so far. It vibrates slightly, but it seems to be the engine vibration through the tray it's mounted to that's causing it.
I have a rattle within my dash that happens only occasionally. It sounds like it's deep in the dash on the center right. I've tried everything I can to locate it to no avail.
I thought I had a dash rattle one time, but it turned out to be my sunglasses in the overhead storage. It's strange how...
Going down one of the five paths for Diablo Drop Off. I was happy with the rear articulation provided by the Global multi-leaf springs and Eibach 2.0 remote-reservoir shocks. I'm seriously considering the AirLynx sway bar end links to increase front travel.
Led a trip in Anza Borrego last weekend, a few days after the rainstorms we had. The Defender is our neighbor, and it was their first time ever going off-road. His wife wasn't sure she wanted to go, but now they are both hooked and asking when the next trip is.
Looking down from Dolomite Mine...
Are you saying they are making the blend specifications that California requires? I didn't think any state was doing that. It costs more to make California gas than any other blends, from what I've read. That's fascinating...
