  1. Leaking from front differential at ~1100 miles

Never saw any specifics as to why it leaked. Could have been an improperly installed seal by the original builder or just a bad seal. It definitely had been leaking the entire time up until that point. Just make sure they put oil back into it when they reseal it. My dealer didn't and I ended up...
  2. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Good bye shitty FX4 shocks! Also finally installed my DD fogs.
  3. Test Drove A Maverick Today

I'm going to have to get in one as well. I saw another one in the wild today and I'll admit I spent way too long looking at it in the parking lot.
  4. Mechanics of the 2.3

D mode is always in a race to get to the highest gear as soon as possible. Completely neuters the trucks performance for the marginal increase (if any in MPG). I too drive in tow/haul or S most of the time. Barely have seen any loss in economy. Probably because it is not constantly having to...
  5. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

Update 1/25 #2 (final update I hope) Got it back. Put about 30 miles on it dropping off the friend that helped me go get it. All seems good. Verified on the work order that I signed that they did indeed put fluid in it. Looks like it took the tech two hours to swap it out. On to the next...
  6. Dealer just told me Friday is the last day to order a 2022?

I wouldn't doubt it. Ford just cut off orders for the Maverick and I can see them doing the same for Ranger and the like. If they are anything like what I see in the material handling industry, they are booked out a year or more in advance right now. Lead time on some of our stuff is more than...
  7. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

Update 1/25 Dropped the truck off yesterday AM with the notion that they probably could not get to it until next Monday. Well, I got a text a short while ago saying it was all ready to go. Apparently some other customer work for delayed due to parts and mine was next in line. I will pick it up...
  8. Test Drove A Maverick Today

I'd love to see the reasoning behind that. I wonder if it is something to do with isolating the noise and vibration? Not familiar with the Ridgeline's body design. I should have looked at the Maverick on the lot while I was waiting for my ride this morning at the dealership.
  9. Test Drove A Maverick Today

Good thing it doesn't have one then. Ecoboost has an 8-speed auto and the hybrid is an eCVT which is way different from the craptastic belt drive ones in Nissans and the like. Ford has been using the eCVT for a while and it is probably one of the best out there.
  10. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Defrosted her and drove her for the first time in three weeks. Dropped off at the dealer to get a new front differential some time in the next two weeks. ?it might get done this week.
  11. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

Update 1/17 Dealer contacted me this AM. Soonest appointment they have is 1/31. They told me to drop it off next week sometime and if they get time they can start it early. Hopefully this tech is worth his salt and won't screw it up.
  12. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

Update 1/15 Got a text message from the dealer yesterday. They got the differential in! That is the good news. Bad news is that they cannot get my truck in for at least two weeks due to being booked out and short staffed. I am going to try to drop it off early next week to put pressure on them...
  13. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

I did repeatedly. Verbally, in previous text messages and in emails. They said they did not have any loaners to provide and my warranty did not cover a rental since I didn't have the extended warranty plan.
  14. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

I referring to actually getting a call from them. I can't get squeeze that out of my dealer. Should have added a "/s" for the sarcasm. But, yeah. Failing ball joints. What is the worst that could happen? ?
  15. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

It is is a warranty/gratis repair. They were not willing to put in additional labor into it without me paying for it. I also do not have the time or facility to do the job myself. Also also, I didn't want to disable the 4wd in case I had to make an emergency trip up to the mountains where my...
  16. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

I wish I had that good of communication with the service department at my dealer.
  17. Howling/Whirring Sound From Front End. Speed Dependant

Update 1/12- Diff Bound and Down I messaged the dealership this morning via their text line casually asking if they had any updates. They sent back that they expect the diff to be in this week and if I want to schedule to come in on Monday. So I am waiting for them to let me know what time to...
  18. 2021 Ranger XLT 126 miles

Forscan has a lot of service tools that do not require changing any of the computer settings. I know there are some issues with modifying the settings before you tune but, I think you are okay to do it afterwards. Someone can confirm. The brake purge is just a service procedure you can activate...
  19. 2021 Ranger XLT 126 miles

My 2021 had a very spongey pedal feel. I did the Forscan ABS bleed/purge and it was night and day. Worth the $30 for the cable and ten minutes of time.
