If i am motoring along in the green leafy 'burbs at 25-40 mph, I put it in Trailer Tow. It holds 1-2 gears lower, and is happier queuing up to a right-turn-no-stop intersection. You can shift TT in or out on the fly. 30mph 1100 rpm in 7th; ridiculous. I ran my Kenworth T-680 and Cummins 13 liter at 1200+ in town.
I use Tow some also , but the hills here in WV drive it crazy ?...

I solved all the transmission shifting issues with a custom tranny tune from Unleashed Tuning.

The tune keeps the tranny in a gear that ensures the engine rpm is at least 1500 rpm and won't upshift until the rpm goes over 2000 rpm. Running around town it seldom goes above 7th gear and you need to be doing about 50 mph before shifting into 8th. Tranny is much more willing to down shift when you give it gas and the shifting is very smooth and direct. I don't think I have used sport mode in 15k miles and only use tow when towing.

This is the way Drive should have been from the factory and the tranny is joy to drive with.
