I installed the UPR catch can about a week ago, and after about a 600 Mile road trip this last weekend I wanted to see what it had captured, and much to my surprise it contained a few ounces of gasoline (maybe a little water, but it has been warm here in Texas and the engine never cooled down during the trip). So I then figured I should check my oil, and sure enough it reeked of gasoline. Then I went back and checked the level, and it was way overfilled! Obviously a ton of fuel in the oil. Only 1800 miles on the truck, almost entirely highway. I only take it for drives into town (about a 20 mile drive one way) and roadtrips. We have 2 beaters we drive to work each day. I took it to the dealer yesterday and no word back yet. How much extra wear do you think that could've caused the engine in that amount of time? Should I press Ford for an extended warranty on my engine? If I was like many owners and just followed the 10,000 mile oil interval without ever checking who knows how bad it could have gotten. I also wonder what caused it. My best guess would be a leaking injector, but maybe a poorly seated piston ring? I'll report back here once I get it back from the dealer.

Has anyone ever gotten an answer from Ford on this issue? Or the specs/guidelines of gas in oil?

Under boost the valve closes.

CFM Performance valve cover breathers are the best money can buy and is the reason they have become extremely popular so quickly. They are so much more than a pretty filter on top of your valve cover and offer features that no other kits offer.
It is the only breather on the market which incorporates a check ball to keep unmetered air from coming through while the PCV system is active and the crankcase is under vacuum. In other words, this breather works just like a factory oil cap under normal driving conditions but will vent any positive crankcase pressure present under full or part throttle. It is also the only breather with an integrated baffle to help contain oil particles in the engine rather than allowing them to exit the valve cover and saturate the filter element. Filter tops are available in several popular powdercoat finishes, chrome, hydrocarbon and select OEM colors.
These breathers seem like an intriguing option, though I have to admit being completely naive about the potential effects. Can anybody come up with any possible detrimental effects (other than venting of fumes to the atmosphere) of using one? I don't typically push my truck very hard.

You probably will not have any need for it then, but honestly it cannot hurt. Maybe spend your money elsewhere though. As far as the "OMG! Unmetered air!" crowd... Ignore them, just ignore them.

I haven't had a chance to dig around in the engine bay yet and it's been a while since I've looked at the PCV operation, but does the PCV valve return crank gasses to the intake tract before the turbo or after the turbo?

In case the latter, I can see how the oil cap breather may be of value. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think that is how it works. I remember some of the higher hp speed3 guys were pushing their dipsticks out at higher boost levels.

So I drop the truck off tonight. They are opening a case with Ford about the fuel in oil. I went 830 miles since the last oil change (on 2/27/21) and the there is still a heavy fuel smell in the oil and my oil level rose about 1/4 inch. They scored the dipstick so they knew where the level was. They are also going to do the GSB for the spongy brakes AND replace my saggy leather seat. On a positive note they are giving me a loaner F150 because they will need the Ranger for a few days. I'll post what they come back with.
Update: My service advisor just called me. The technician has found fuel saturation in cylinders 2, 3, and 4. They ordered four new injectors. Parts "should" be in on Tuesday. After he replaces all the injectors, spark plugs, oil, and filter he needs to let it sit over night and re run what ever tests he did to make sure that is the fix. He also supposedly did the brake GSB for the pedal travel and I was told that the replacement leather seat bottom that came in was damaged and had to be re ordered. She is hoping to have my truck back, providing this fixes the fuel in oil issue, by next Weds or Thursday.

They told me to keep the F150 until the Ranger is fixed. This thing is a battleship lol. Feel bigger then
any of the previous F150s I owned before the Ranger. Maybe I am just used to the size of the Ranger now. They gave me an XL, but even this base model has a couple cool things. Wireless Apple CarPlay. The 5.0 in it is pretty sweet too.

Dealers in my area "make" money on warranty, but they can make 10x that money on regular work of which they have more than they can handle. They try every trick in the book, and some that aren't in the book to deny warranty claims. I can assure you that if I went in there with a catch can, and a failed engine, or even a rattle or CEL, they would do their best to deny the claim entirely, and charge me the book rate on diagnosis and "repair".

I had them try to argue that I had messed with the AC line and caused it to flood my vehicle because I had installed a ham radio (that in no way connected to anything near the HVAC system) for which I was using a trunk mounted antenna, and getting power from the cigarette lighter in the trunk...

You have to go in there with proof positive, and they need to be dead to rights before it's not an argument, and this isn't just my experience.
i know this is an old post but this is so true! They much prefer non-warranty work which they make more money on! Almost all dealerships will try using any excuse possible to deny warranty work.

Ok, strange as it may be here is my Blackstone report. Everything is normal and minimal gas in my oil. My build date is 11/2020 XLT sport scab. Before I got the report I would have thought I was at 2 to 3%. Test says it all but I’m still putting a catch can on.

How far up your stick was your oil level. I sent a sample off and my level was up to the top hole. Had risen to that level from the hash mark, and they told me mine was 1% couldn't understand that with that much of a rise!

That’s exactly what happened with mine/ and how they tested it.

I've asked this before....is anyone actually having engine problems that has this fuel in the oil issue? I'll be honest....I don't fiddle with my dipstick too much because I get the oil changed every 5K. No drips in the garage so why mess with it.....obviously it is stressful for some to look at that thing. I'm not saying don't check your oil, I just want to see some kind of issue resulting from all this talk.
Please don't think I'm being an ass, I'm just wondering if the dealer saying it is normal ops is really correct?
Its not normal especially when the crankcase oil level is above maximum, per owners manual "engine damage"
