I can hear the noise in your video. Mine made the noise yours is making and also made the noise the f150 was making in the video you shared. Its knock. Run out all of that 93/87 blend you're running and dump in a full tank of 93. I ran 93 exclusively and it still knocked
If I were you, I'd try...
Wasn't there a TSB on these to replace the EGR valve? It could be getting stuck open for some reason. I had this happen in a similar engine as the 2.3 and cleaning it fixed the issue. Luckily the problem never came back.
It's worth the effort to put 93 in and see if the pinging goes away. This...
My 21 XLT cost me around 32k in 2021. THAT is what these trucks should cost in my eyes. I priced a 6G XLT out right around 42k with similar options. What the hell am I getting for the extra 10 grand? A bedside step?? A tailgate damper?? I mean the Chevy ZR2 base price is only a grand more than...
I'd think Dana Spicer has gearsets for these. The rear advantek 44 is a very common axle at least, the front 35 is probably used in a lot of vehicles also. I'm guessing you can change gear ratio in Forscan?
@12Bravo20 my 2nd car was an 80s 3 series and it was bombproof. Had over 300k before it was crushed at a junk yard. looking back, I should have kept it as prices skyrocketed. Buddy of mine who had one at the same time had over 400k on his. The e30s with the small 6s were great cars with a pretty...
@Phil_R Thanks! Yes, rubi takeoffs so the OE 33s. They're cheap and you regain your dignity after dumping the stockers lol.
No lift yet. My wife has placed me on spending detention until after I finish my undergrad, but I have my frankenlift parts list in a spreadsheet ready to go.
Edit: and...
That's my Ranger. Still waiting on the insurance money after a bunch of vandals went at it with clubs! Lol..
JTs have good color options but I think the Ranger just edges out in my eyes with this azure as well as carbonized gray. This azure is NICE.
No but I'm specifically referring to the MZR DISI which had a DI system very similar to the Ranger. I didn't realize there were non-DI MZR motors out there!
I'm referring to the ability to get those parts hot, not wash the valves but as @Progeny2021 has shared via the EE video, I can infer...
Regular oil changes with good oil and the good ol Italian tune-up regularly help stave off this issue for a while. I never had a problem with it and never once blasted my valves on my 175k mile MZR. YMMV.
The design language of the newest volvos looks sharp. Your wife has good taste AND financial prowess what with owning those two cars so long. Nice buy!
Perceived off-road worthiness is so subjective these days. Here's a video of a unibody proving that marketing strategies and names of trim levels do not an off-roader make. Have will, will travel as the adage goes.
I did the opposite. I have a manual JT and the pedal position kinda sucks and the seat is unconscionably poor. I'm looking at Recaros and my wife isnt saying no.. If you find the JT uncomfortable, I don't think you'll find the Ranger much better but ymmv. It could be just the right fit. The...
@AzScorpion
I have that kit installed raising the front of the seat 0.75". It kinda works but it also jacks up the angle of your legs, making the pedals harder to manipulate. I plan on uninstalling it or maybe putting it on the passenger seat.
I'm getting 21mpg avg in my Jeep (I averaged 22ish in my Ranger) but the seat is terrible. Like the criteria for the seat was "Can you sit on the seat?" "Yes" "Ok that's checked, let's move on to the pedals". I'm looking at aftermarket seats.
